As a fan I feel like my chest has been ripped open. But I have to say we can't give the refs reasons to call stuff on us. I don't know what conference they were from but I have to say they seemed to be looking for penalties on that last drive. But that lead with the helmet is called a lot in the nfl and cfb even if it was a clean hit so it really is up to the refs the way it has been called that is. It was stupid to hit him in that situation. JJ did launch because he was so far away and his body motion made it look worse. If he would have just let him catch it that's still not fg range. Unneccessary. Also the vols did seem to get more chippy as the game went on. I think the refs started to see us as pushing the limits on the field. Then we actually did-
Run into the kicker on that last fg
There was a second on that last play
Everytime we lose it's when something doesn't go our way then we self destruct. Our play in ot was awful except for that one td pass.
But I fel every penalty we got could have been either way but if we just don't get to crazy there are no penalties anyway. And the refs choked on the end of the game rule. They should have not let the play run. That's were the mistake was. But I doubt they would let any game end without giving the offense a chance at trying to run a play. It's just natural. There are too many rules that are judgement calls in cfb these days. from celebrating to speering to how many wr are on the line. It's never called the same so refs can do what they want.
So my final thought......they WANTED to screw us.
Kiss my checkered.....
