We got out coached today

Poor discipline but at least we kept fighting. That’s not been true in prior years. Particularly last year

People can talk all they want about the 4th and inches QB sneak blah blah blah. Fact is we left at least 14 points on the field due to overthrows, poor decisions, turnovers, and bone-headed penalties. Some of that is on coaching, some of it is poor execution. I'm not placing sole blame on the coaches today.
Thank you!!!

Terrible spot that preceded our 4th and 1 failure. Hooker's forward progress was enough for the first down.

I thought the coaches did a respectable job with the talent on hand.

Coach started the wrong QB.

He burned time outs that we needed at the end.

He called a horrible 4th and inches call that probably cost us atleast getting it tied and going to over time.

Just kinda feel like Dooley 2.0 and I hope I am wrong.

The time out on 3rd down on defense was exactly the right move, and it worked out great as we stopped them on 3rd down and got the ball back. Unfortunately, Hooker through an int on the ensuing possession.

I thought he coached a great game overall. I'm not sure why people thought we would/should beat Pitt. We lost a ton of players (particularly on defense) while Pitt returned like 25 starters, including a future NFL QB. Honestly, I'm surprised we played so well on offense overall. Pitt has a good defense. Scoring 30+ on them is a pretty good feat.

Gotta start tackling better. Not wrapping up tackles cost us a ton of yards tonight. But overall, we played better than most unbiased fans probably expected.

Yeah that was a B Jones type of 4th down call. I think 6 wins will be tough reach for this bunch. If Milton comes back to start then no chance.
I see five wins:
BGSU
TTU
S. Alabama
Vandy
S. Carolina

that is all
Mizzou MIGHT be sixth win from what I am seeing vs. UK (but UK could just be that good).

100% we got out coached today. Hell we got out coached last week the only difference was we have vastly superior talent.

Coaching staff did a good job today. We almost won while losing the turnover battle 3-0. It wasn't the coaching today. They actually out coached Pitt today and we almost pulled it off. You actually do not know much about football.

We played undisciplined and sloppy against inferior talent, so they didn’t out couch anyone.

That was just one poor example of a badly coached team.

Why don't you f ing check out then until he's fired. We did play hard the entire game. He has buy in with the players. The previous staffs have put us in a real bad spot and idiots like you will just keep us there if we fire the coach every 3-4 years. Until we do more than lose a game the we almost won despite the penalties and turnovers, just get the heck off his back. NOBODY WANTED THIS FREAKING MESS. AND THAT WILL CONTINUE THE NEXT 20 YEARS IF WE KEEP LOSING OUR **** WITH GUYS ACTUALLY DOING A GOOD JOB OF TRYING TO PUT US IN A POSITION TO WIN. Despite all the adversity, we were in a position to win a game in which we were the underdog. At least give the guy more than two games.

On the goal line 4th and inches a QB sneak would have been doubtful too as the middle was stacked.. On the shotgun snap should have faked the back to the right then bootlegged left with the tight end clearing the way. Would have been a walk in TD.

Any talk of firing Heupel is insane.

I agree with this. No matter how bad season 1 & 2 may get of Heupel's tenure he gets both of them to produce a solid football product on the field. There are so many examples of bad football based on today's performance alone that demonstrates Heupel is not doing that at all. He may do it and he's got this year to get it done and I think next year as well. But >100 yards in penalties, 4th and inches for a tying TD attempt goes deep behind the LOS in shotgun formation, starting a poor performing QB over one that came in and played better, inside the red zone for a certain score somehow end up after penalties the ball almost at midfield, just some of the really bad football UT put on the field today. All of it, 100% to my mind, belongs to the staff, including penalties. Well coached teams do not get as many unecessary calls as we get go against us.

Absolutely, we easily left two touchdowns on the field due to poor coaching. That's a 21 point swing.
How many did we leave on the field with open receivers getting overthrown when they would’ve scored if the pass was on target?

How do you start Milton over Hooker? It was night and day difference. If Hooker starts, Tennessee wins.
Honestly I’m fine with it, mostly bc I have to be at this point. Milton may have looked better in practice, cannon of an arm, possibly can run the offense better, idk.

What will piss me off is if we go back to Milton after this game.
