But, for now, Dykes did not seem as interested. He noted he would like to be transparent about the process, but also he would prefer to keep his name out of the news cycle when it comes to jobs.

The fact that the finalists were Heupel, Dykes, and Leipold tells me that our AD can identify a good coaching hire. We couldn’t have gone wrong with any of those. But we got the right one.

No offense, but why is this being resurrected? Dykes is a good coach, but he also inherited a much better situation than Heupel did. Additionally, the rebuilding project that was supposed to take 3-4 seasons is well ahead of schedule. GBO!!

Yeah, even though he tailed off at the end, Gary Patterson knew what he was doing. I don’t follow them closely, but I have to think he left some pieces in place.

Yes. In all fairness he had actually already hired two of those candidates. But I trust that if Heupel were to leave he could expand the net.
