Guys... Florida is every bit as afraid of us as we are of Kentucky.

Kentucky brought their version of our 2016 Vols into our stadium 2 years ago, we beat the brakes off them.

Last year we had to play a night game in Lexington against some trickeration of a triple-option offense.... we beat them again.

Who knows what KY will bring to the table in 2020, but one thing is absolute truth.... we won’t be afraid of it. That’s how Florida feels about us.

*Side note: if you ever get some down time, go check out the similarities between the 2016 Vols and the 2018 Wildcats, it’s eerie. Mobile QB, broke the Florida streak, lost to Texas AM in OT for their first loss of the season, among others.

I don't know that is say they're scared. I do think they have noticed what we're doing right now is different. Despite many claims to the contrary.... Lol

But two things about what is going on down there...

1. I'm glad it's them having the crappy off season (again) they are instead of us... If there's a fan base out there that knows what dysfunction in a football program looks like it's us... And right now... It looks. "not great"lol
2. It needs to carry over in to the on field product. UF had a bad off season last spring.. Transfers, decommits, the Chris Steele situation Frank's and the fans etc.. And they still had an ok season and beat us... It needs to bleed over to the field so it can really sink.

Until then... Hope it's business as usual down there.. Keep it up..Lol.

Yes he went to osu and won a nc there but that conference is very soft and he was a ke to build s juggernaut with little resistance. He also got lucky and had a QB hit a zone that he had never hit and hasnt been able to hit since.

Meyer's faults are almost universally ignored by the public. The only person who has ever received that much favorable spin was Lou Holtz.

Florida, the program whose fans have been calling Tennessee’s class overrated because of the number of 3*s committed, got a commitment from a 0* OT yesterday. They beat out FAU for him.

Get it, Mullen!

As much as I hate to say it and hate the gators, they own us. 14 of the last 15. We are going to have to win 2-3 in a row and 6-8 of the next 10 to gain any type of respect back.

It sure would be great if our team would stop being so nice to them. We typically make enough big mistakes against them to lose 4 or 5 games. Then when we play solid on the field our coaching gets all super conservative leaving the door open for 1 blunder to decide the outcome of the game.

We have been our worst enemy for the most part of this current run.

I expect to see better play with a more aggressive approach going forward with JP. Fear might not be the right word, but we sure have their attention.

Everybody knows the importance of this game to each of the programs. How bad does the East have to be for some other East program to end up in Atlanta? Ask Mizzou. They could tell you.

When a fan goes out of their way to say how it’s not a rival or how unimportant a game is it that it’s not a big game, they know that’s the best way to get under the skin of an opposing fan. To not care, or overlook is one thing, to pretend to not care, that’s trying too hard.

It is truly time for the Vols to get out of our own way and play some good football. I expect us to do that against some quality opponents this year. We might even be a witness to some great football. How fun would that be?

oh, i'm just here for the salt lol.

and that's now how they operate for us. basically everyone in our class dropped in ratings in the new rivals update this week lol.

Assuming this is true, then why do people put so much stock into these things? I don't understand how a player can somehow get "better" or "worse" when they haven't done anything. The player hasn't changed, at this point. I guess I can see it if a running back goes out this Fall and rushes for 2500 yards, etc. that he can rise up the ranks.

To me, it's about as accurate as Joe Lunardi putting out 2021 NCAA Tournament brackets in May of 2020.

that's basically it in a nut shell. the ratings adjustments that happen in the spring are usually the result of two things.....a final review of Jr. season tape.....and/or camp evals. no camps this year, so we're being told it's because of jr. film reviews...tifwiw.

rivals though, does put on it's own camps, pay to play type deals and there have been instances where regional analysts will bump certain guys that do pay to go to these camps, and keep other kids stagnate that won't/don't attend the rivals camps. it was really evident in some of the state rankings you see, when you compare rivals to 247, just the disparity between who each had ranked where.

none of them rarely differ all that much in the top 75-100 or so prospects....you can't really hide that.

but a top 200 4* kid in one service is ranked 350 in another....makes you wonder. lol.

so no, don't put a ton of stock in the ratings. but can't deny that the more players you get in that top 150-250, the better your chances. so go load up on as many as you can.

and when your coach offers the 742nd ranked OG in the country.............maybe understand they do their own evals..... :)
