We can play with the big boys

We get blown out by one of the few teams that matter yet again yet some of you are convinced we are getting better. Are y'all getting good weed?
Final score doesn't tell the story of the competition in the game. Yes it's all that matters but they didn't run away with it until the 4th. So yeah I'm convinced were getting better. And I don't smoke weed!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. One thing that's evident to me after watching us play tonight is that we have the talent and coaching staff to play with the big boys. However we will not beat them until we find a true quarterback. The end.
They gifted 14 points. We were polite and gifted them back in the 2nd half. In between, it was ugly for the good guys.

Tennessee still can't beat the good SEC teams. The Offensive Line is way OVER RATED.

Mediocrity for more than a decade. Four head coaches since Fulmer, with no significant improvement.

Almost a Quarter of a Century without an SEC title.

We can’t play with the big boys with the players we have. Until we start bringing in bigger and better players this is going to be the result.
Agree with this, but we have to beat one of the big boys at least once or I’m afraid these top recruits will continue to load Al, GA, LSU, and even AU rosters. Our record against top 10 teams isn’t very good and builds optimism among most fans here on Rocky Top

Offense barely had 200 yards for the entire game. Not very competitive.
Thai team didn't quit like previous years and the defense was lights out until they got tired. I'd say we were very competitive!! From where this program was when Botch was fired til where we are now is a improvement. I wouldn't expect some to get it considering we live in a world where people get what they want when they want it. And if it's not on their timeline then they get pissed n call for change!!

Good point and haven’t seen much call for change except maybe Will Friend (that will never change, Pruitts roommate in college) and JG. I agree the defense held as long as they could although UGA marched up and down the field pretty regularly but kept making mistakes on their own.

Our 0-33 record against top 5 opponents indicates otherwise.
I won't bother with cute retorts. Ill just say that we have the puzzle pieces to make it happen.......finally. Is our receiver corps elite? No. But they are potentially elite. Is our D elite? Until we can stop the pass.......no. Do we have the talent on the roster to correct that? Yes. Do we have elite running backs? Not sold on them yet but our O line has the talent to hide their shortcomings, assuming the o line actually settles in and plays as a unit. We are still installing new faces into that o line.
But that QB though.... he's had for years to figure out the he needs to deliver that ball faster. To learn how to settle down and not panic. To actually deliver that ball on target. If he hasn't learned how to correct the problems he's been making since he was a freshman at this point, it's time 2 move on . Next man up!

I've seen a few calling for a coaching change (maybe not seriously) but still. Anyway yeah UGA moved the ball between be the 20's at will but our D stood their ground especially with the impressive goal line stand at the end of the half and the stop on 4th n inches. Don't get me wrong we still have a long way to go with lots of areas for improvement but some on here sayin we ain't no better than a Jones coached team is comical.

BONEHEAD SUMMARY

FIRST HALF
9 min into game, Deondre Johnson - targeting, ejected.
7 penalties for 74 yards.

SECOND HALF
JG fumbles on 1st possession deep in our end.
JG throws pick on 2nd possession deep in our end.
JG fumbles on 4th possession deep in our end, but we recover and punt.
JG fumbles on 6th possession deep in our end, GA scoops and scores.
Only 10 men on defense twice requires defensive timeouts.
3 additional penalties.

Too much bonehead!
Exactly, we would of have to played a mistake free game and had a break go our way( first TD gift) to be in it at the end
