As much crap as Op has gotten, he could be right about Malone. Would you want to go to a team that passed for what, 54 yards? When you could go to FSU? Our offense is Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. We'll still have a top ten class regardless.

That was not his main point, his main point was that we would lose players already commited, and that we would not be able to get any more commits, surprise! he was wrong! :birgits_giggle:

Not getting Malone wouldn't not drop us 18 spots. It is mathematically impossible for us to not pull a top 20 class at this point

Possibly, I know Rivals I think only takes your top (20?) commits? And ranks them that way. That's one of the only ways I could possibly see us dropping out of the top 10.

Any player who is currently committed to the Vols clearly is committed for different reasons than going 50-0 every year. If that's all recruits looked for, Alabama would get all high school prospects and everyone else would get none.

Maybe there's more to it... Like Butch Jones being a leader of men or having an apologetic track record of winning with built programs.

Don't be such an idiot. If players start bailing after a 4-point loss, then they weren't going to sign anyways.

Major over-reaction, but in one sense, losing to Vandy certainly will hurt with one or a few of our current targets.

Nevertheless, in CBJ's coaching history, he's always had a down year, the first year in...but a major change in the 2nd. Brian Kelly was the same way at ND. Auburn had an even worse year than we did, last year, and they did a complete reversal in one season (true, it was under a new staff, but it does prove that team fortunes can turn on a dime).

Missouri looked like they were going to be a perennial SEC whipping boy, last year...and they too had a total 180 degree reversal of fortune. If Dooley were still the coach, I would agree that the class would be taking a big hit right about now.

CBJ has a record that shows he can turn it around in yr 2...and that's what this class is. Giving him a legit shot at doing just that.

If I were a top recruit, I would go to Tennessee because after what I saw last night, I would immediately either start or contribute immediately
