I always thought he was a better play-caller than cutcliffe. Don't think he managed Ainge very well. The writer, and at least one or two in this thread, have missed Randy's point.
He's saying it's an unreasonable hypothesis, folks. He's grinning, kidding and enjoying himself, not insulting his players, just pointing out the very one-sided nature of this kind of game.
Didn't appreciate him too much as our OC, but as a person, Randy's a good dude.
We are not in disagreement there. Johnny Majors biggest mistake was in coming back and giving Fulmer back the job of calling plays. Suddenly we reverted back to the predictable play calling that was prevalent throughout the majors tenure. During Fulmer's 3 games as interim coach they broke in cutcliffe as a play caller with great success. When Johnny came back prematurely, Fulmer was back to calling plays, and the season went to hell.Thats not possible, Cutcliffe had more latitude, Sanders was always under Fulmer's thumb and being second guessed or outright thrown under the bus.

You might can see that I'm not much of a fan of Fulmer as a coach
All this old Vol sees is a no-longer-vacant portion on the team bulletin board. Sanders is either being silly and outright facetious, or he's just lost his mind. I lean toward the former. Nonetheless, I doubt there's not a Vol footballer on the roster who's not read this tidbit from VFL Randy. At least they've got something to boost up their upcoming hell week of practice. Betcha' an ice cream cone that lots more youngsters are gona' be playing from here-on-out. Ooooops! 'Just dropped my mic.
Using a bulletin board for inspiration is highly overrated. If you're not interested in playing a game to the best of your abilities at all times then you have no business playing in college. All this old Vol sees is a no-longer-vacant portion on the team bulletin board.
