I've seen some on here tonight saying things like coach Martin should not get an extension, we like mediocrity, blah blah blah. We are Tennessee. We are not Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC, Louisville, Michigan st, or any other big time program. We are Tennessee. If we make a sweet sixteen, we should be ecstatic and our coach should get a raise, period. Some people need to quit acting like we are used to championships in basketball around here, and just praise this team and coach Martin for a great season.

Some people need to quit settling for mediocrity. There's no reason we can't be very good in basketball yearly just like we finished this season.

Give me a sweet 16 run any year. Because when you make it that far anything can happen and it almost did.

Yeah, we have made one elite 8 in over 100 years. We have such a great tradition. Just be happy with the run we had this season and hope for a good year next year. In the mean time, give coach Martin a raise and extension. Nobody better is walking through that door.

Just enjoy the sweet 16 run please. Syracuse, UNC, Duke, and Kansas (the big timers) didn't get to enjoy that this year.

We are only Tennessee in basketball. Even when Bruce was here we were only Tennessee. Don't be fooled by the good times, we were headed down hill before Bruce left, and that's a fact.

If someone said after the utep loss or the two to A&M, we will have a shot with 6 seconds left to go to the elite 8, they would just now be let out of a psych ward. Looking back, the team did very good.

two things. one, it may be a long time before the vols suit up another team with the talent and heart this team showed tonight. two, i've never been prouder of a vol b-ball team.

So let the big boys keep being the big boys at the table and we should be happy that we were allowed to be standing in the room? How about F' that and strive to be better. I'm proud of what the team has done this season but give me a break. I want a seat at the table.

We better be thankful we have been Tennessee in basketball. Things around here would've been God-awful the last decade without it.

It was a great run by the team. Im really proud of them for turning it around. Its unfortunate the call kept us from seeing what the outcome should have been. Im proud to be a tennessee vol and cant wait to see what the future holds.

It astonishes me how some people on here do not account for how bad TN basketball was about 10-30 years ago. I will take a Sweet 16 appearance with a legitimate shot at the elite 8 every 3 years (as long as we can make or get close to the tourney every year).

I think this year we saw this year towards the end especially on cuonzo starting to figure out how to coach at a major school and that's good

We are Tennessee. We are losers in every sport but baseball, softball, and women's basketball. In all other sports, we should just be happy if our players can figure out how to tie their shoes. We are Tennessee! Why should we expect to win BIG? It's not like we will ever have a chance!! Come on fans!! If your coach can spell his name correctly, the first time, BE HAPPY!! After all, we are poor, pitiful, little Tennessee.

Yep...and still have difficulty selling out a small arena for those basketball champions.

You did better this year. I think the failure of the football program opened some eyes regarding what a gem of a hoops operation you have down there.

Still a mediocre fanbase considering the quality of the program on offer.

And yet you're still not considered a traditional college basketball powerhouse that can reel in talent like the big boys can. Billy D generally has to build his teams over a couple of years, unless he gets lucky in recruiting.
