You are 100% correct! He didn't say "we're having a really good season"(I think he knew he'd be laughed at), instead he said, "we have a really good team", this is politico speak. When someone says team X is really good, it is natural to assume they have quite a good record, in fact a "really good" record (W-L), but they never actually said that-clever. Remember when old slick willie said, "It depends on what you mean by the word 'IS'"? I'll hand it to Pruitt, he's learning that political way to speaking, he'll soon be a master.
