We are now Ole Miss

I would love to see yall in the Liberty Bowl. It wouldn't be great for you guys, but it would mean Tennessee and USM could play again. I enjoyed the last game why not do it again.

Funny; last week we noticed a UT shirt for sale on the Strip:

"We may not win 'em all, but we never lost a party!"

I hadn't heard that saying since med school. . . .in Memphis. . . .from my Ole Miss friends.

Yeah, and what's really sad is that last week we could kind of laugh at it... not any more.

talent-wise, yes...we are closer to Ole Miss than Florida/LSU

talent wise, you couldn't be more wrong. that's about as idiotic a statement i've ever heard.

we've recruited talent about as equal to either of those teams over the past 3-4 years. it's just the fact that we don't have as good of a coaching staff apparently to get them ready.

ole miss just got waxed by vandy. i guess vandy has our talent too?

I have to disagree. We have not recruited the talent the top SEC teams has the past four years. Our off and def lines have not been SEC caliber for the past years. It is time for everyone to stop saying we have top talent. Sadly I think Vandy and a lot of second teir SEC teams are equal to us.

No way.... talent-wise we are close to LSU. Coaching-wise we are close to Division I-AA and simply living in past glory. Everyone knows what formation Tennessee will play next.

We've had two Top 5 classes and I think another Top 10 class three out of the last for years. Florida, Georgia, and LSU are the only 3 teams anywhere near that level of talent.

But like OWB said, talent is nothing if it's not used correctly.

That doesn't mean it isn't there and it certainly doesn't mean that we're "Ole Miss" or equal to anyone else. Sad that you compare your team to such a miserable school talent wise, win wise, coaching wise, class wise, and pretty much anything else you want to throw in there.

The talent is there, but the coaching and development isn't.

I doubt UT plays in the Liberty Bowl. There is a deal about no rematches in the contract with the SEC. Also I am pretty sure the Music City Bowl would take them. That is if they are bowl eligible, which at this point is doubtful...debatable at best. We may lose to Ark. St. They took Texas to the brink. Not to mention every SEC opponent has a shot at beating us. I am to the point of worrying whether we will beat Vandy and Kentucky, and whether we go to the Liberty or Music City Bowl...My God what has happened? How have we strayed so far?

There is a deal but it doesn't prevent rematches, it just requires a waiver to be signed. Just like it doesn't prevent the bastard step children up north to play us, they just have to sign a willingness to have there azz handed to them by USM.

*Bump*

Ole Miss was a couple of red zone conversions from the unthinkable.

Who's laughing now?

I would've been cheering my butt off. Would mean an L for the gators and then one more we would be ahead (considering we don't lose again which is a lot to ask but as Judy Tenuta, the comedienne, would say "It could happen")
