"You mean we're a favorite this week? Wow. I don't know. I hope they're not looking at that stuff. The last time we were the favorite, we went into OT against a team from the same league. So hopefully we learned our lesson. That was a nail-biter, and this one will be too if we don't go out and play the best we can for four quarters." Dooley, told his Vols were nearly a three-touchdown favorite this week against the Tigers.

CDD hit the nail on the head. At least he didn't disguise it with coach-speak.

I can accept being a favorite. But we aren't "giving points" since it is always FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.

Its nice to be favored but all that matters at the end of the day is that we win. Couldn't care less that we're favored.

I heard that if players sit around and believe what the line say's is going to happen they are in trouble. We should be favored but in no way should we be overconfident. If that was the case we really have problems. GO VOLS!

Don't be surprised if this game is closer than we expect. Memphis would sell vital organs to beat us regardless of the year, and this isn't a game our team gets fired up for, most likely. I know Memphis stinks, but we simply aren't good enough to show up unfocused and unmotivated.

Agreed. The days of being dissapointed about not blowing teams out went down the drain for me 11/8/2008 in a L to Wyoming. Now I just want to WIN baby!!

The question is, if we lose to Memphis this week, would you consider that a bigger upset than Wyoming was in 08?

That question being ask, do I think we can blow them out? Yes, I do.

Will we? Probably beat them by around 2 TDs and a FG. So no I don't think it will be a UT Martin type game.

I would say yes. The 08' team was clearly deeper and more talented than this one, but I think the fact that it is Memphis High, an in-state "rival" (in their eyes) would be much worse. Especially for the Vol faithful there.

I think we win decisively not as big as Martin, because as bad as they are, Memphis is better that Martin. I say 35-10. GBO!

Edit: In rereading your question you asked if it would be a bigger upset - upset wise probably not, but I think it would probably hurt my feelings worse.

I live in the Memphis area and trust me Memphis is really bad. This will be the biggest crowd at home and most will be against them. That has to really piss you off. So if we let them stay in the game and give them any hope........well let's not go there. So score early and score often.

Looking forward to Memphis being covered in orange!
