UT tryng to hire a head coach is like a dude with crappy credit trying to buy a nice used truck... he keeps getting declined everywhere, driving that credit score further down with every turn down. Eventually he ends up at a gravel buy here pay here lot, picking up an 04 taurus.

Boys and girls, we have a power struggle on the hill, and moving forward it's a huge problem trying to hire a head coach. With each public turn down the entire country is laughing at us. Something needs to be done.

Fire Currie, let Fulmer and Manning hire the new coach and lead in the search for a new AD, who must have head coaching experience.

actually I think it shows that UT is willing to pay some bucks and might get the attention of some good coaches

Problem is we started at the buy here pay here lot, Almost drove it off the lot, and ran out of gas because someone poked a hole in the tank. Maybe someone else should be doing the car shopping. Like someone that knows about cars.

Yes indeed. I'm afraid that Currie couldn't close an umbrella. His selling skills are weak, we need someone that can close a deal! Even with that huge 42 million offer he couldn't get it done. I'm afraid he couldn't sell it on a troop train.

There have been maybe two rejections. Both are happy where they are - one is thinking retirement, and the other has an apparent history of using offers to boost his compensation.

The thing is this stuff is supposed to be done quietly by trustworthy people who know what they are doing, and obviously since UT quit using ex coaches as ADs, it's failing miserably and far too publicly. It's stupid to give anything away like salary and that the next person to be approached is number six in line. It's hard to believe that even Currie could be that foolish, so the media have to be making up some facts as they go. Accountability is the key - sources, or it never happened.
