We are better than Texas A&M

How about no?

Dude trashed the team, trashed the coach after being a complete jackass sunshine pumper, then instead of admitting he was wrong, tries to make some lame story about how he was "reverse jinxing".

I repeat, he can get bent.

Hard to argue with this..

Barnett is not better than Garrett. He's very good, but a shade below. Which is why most 2017 draft mocks have Garrett in the top 2 if not #1.

Garrett is not better than Barnett. He is slightly better than Barnett as a pass rusher, which is why he is slightly higher than DB on most NFL boards, but that does not make him a better DE at the college level. DB is a much better run stopper than MG and the stats bear that out.

The Aggies missing Seals Jones, their tackle, Garrett, and Speedy is a big thing. That's one side of the offensive line and 3 of our best play makers on offense and defense. Plus, Knight played his worst game of the season.

And UT has been without the services of 3 of its 4 All-SEC defenders, including its lockdown CB Sutton, and its 2 starting LBs Reeves-Maybin and Kirkland. And Thomas, the starting center, has had issues with both ankles all season and did not play against UF and UGA. And another LB out for the season and a backup CB in the 2-deep suspended last week. Thus time of season every team is down a few playe .

Anyone going to bet against Dobbs late in the fourth? No lead is really safe now is it? That's why if i were a Aggie fan i'd be worried about this one. Everyone is talking like Tennessee's defense is chopped liver. Even without those guys they can get some timely stops. If Tennessee is in this ball game late, my money is on them..

Will the secondary be the Vols Achilles heel, everyone seems to simply outrun the Vols on the back end?

The UT game that showed up for the 2nd half of UF can beat anyone in the country if they play 4 qtrs. If UT again fails to show up in the first half.... the next two games are not going to go well.

If we come out and lay a steaming turd in the first half against these guys we could be down 24 or more at halftime. Game over if that happens.

I think they'd be sill not to be worried. That said law of averages says you can't win them all from behind 3 possessions.

This game needs to competitive start to finish and let's see what happens.

After seeing the opening line yesterday, I really started feeling doubtful about our chances to win Saturday. On the surface, Texas A&M looks scary. However, last night I watched Texas AM vs S. Carolina, and I became much more optimistic. Yes, I'm aware A&M was missing several starters, but IMO South Carolina was the better team on the field. They both scored on the opening drive, then they both went stalemate. Neither team scored again until the 3rd quarter. Carolina shot themselves in the foot all game long. They moved the ball fairly easily on that "stout A&M defense", then they would stall out and fail to finish the drive. Also, they missed 2 field goals.

Knight is very suspect. They call him "one-read Knight" on their message boards. He freaks out under pressure, bad. They run a 4-wide set, but they don't have the QB to use it.

Also, something else to consider,

Recruiting class rankings for the last 3 years (using 247 composite):

2016:
Tex-18
Tenn-14

2015:
Tex-11
Tenn-4

2014:
Tex-6
Tenn-7

Average class ranking for the last 3 years:
Tex: 11
Tenn: 8

Also, and I rarely say this, we have the better coach. Sumlin made his reputation by lucking out with Manzeil/Evans, since then he has frequently been on the hot seat.

We have the better team, recruiting-wise. Barnett is better than Myles Garrett. Texas A&M was 8-5 last year. We haven't been beat in 11 games, and we're supposed to be scared of this team?

I'm not saying this is an easy win. But look at the data and watch a bit of film on them this season, they're not what everyone thinks they are.

They could same about our games all year!!!

Need to play 4 qtr football to win this one

Garrett may still be out and their WRs are banged up. They have one of the best sets of WRs in the country and probably the best in the SEC. The type of WRs that make most any QB look good.

If they are not 100%....

Seems to be the case each game so far. Hopefully they can make the correct adjustments. Our DL could help by pressuring their QB as much as possible.

I cant get a read on this game at all, part of me feels like" uh oh" after the way we have played most of the season. But the other part sees how really good this team could be with 4 full qtrs of play like the second half vs Florida. The bad part is Vegas is usually pretty good at what they do. But this team never stops no matter the odds. All in all it feels like a draw with the breaks pushing it one way or the other.

I feel the exact same way. If they can figure out how to play 4 quarters I like our chances.

Well, if we do fall behind late in the game and need a game winning drive to win, Chavis will let us get to the ten and let it come down to two plays to score. I like our chances.

All of this is speculation though. It is hard to say that we are better than a and m based off their performance against South Carolina. They could say the same stuff about us while referring to app state or Ohio.

Trap game just as Georgia was for us.

To throw in a few new wrinkles and he will be wanting to beat his alma mater. So I expect them to blitz a lot and stack the box on Saturday.

A&M is playing better football than the Vols right now.

If we don't come out firing on all cylinders we may get boat raced. Must protect the ball and sustain drives in what will very hostile environment.

Considering every week people have said that if we don't come out playing better vs. so and so then we will get "boat raced," "destroyed"...etc. I'm beginning to think the pattern will continue, along with the wins 😎😉

If we come out and play like we are capable We won't lose.

If they stack the box and blitz a lot, we will burn them with big plays like we did against FLA. Dobbs stayed in the pocket better than he ever has and his accuracy was very good.

Lines, odds, stats, recruitment and such is something I can't even look at when judging this team against the competition. The Vols have been great and have learned to win. I simply can't put anyone past them at this point.

You're missing the most important point.

After that miraculous win last week, our players have got a jet fuel of confidence. They now believe no matter what adversity hits they will win. Our opponents also know no matter what they will lose.

Its our destiny.

Its just time to enjoy the ride.

You quit on the team a few weeks ago and now you're jumping back on again? GTFO, fake fan

I think Sumlin gets a bad rap. I think he regrets the entire Johnny Football era and is trying to move forward from it with more discipline. I love the guy and think he's severely underrated.
