We are better than Texas A&M

Comes down to turnovers in my opinion. Zero turnovers and 3+ by A&M and we win easily (10-17 points), 1-2 by both teams and it's a nail biter (most likely scenario imo), 3+ for us and 0 or 1 for A&M and we get blown out. Dobbs will do his job. Special teams will give us good field position and bad field position for A&M like always. Hurd will get his 90-110 yards. Receivers will make some plays. Defense will win the LOS battle in the second half. In the end, it's a classic Maxim #1 game. If we had zero turnovers in the UGA game, we would've won comfortably. Just can't keep shooting ourselves in the damn foot! Time to put it all together and play a complete game.

Based off what? As a pure pass rusher, there isn't a DE in college football better than Barnett.

Based off some talking head that said Garret was the best in the SEC and another talking head heard it and repeated it so on and so forth. Hes a dang good player but the stats someone posted the other day show Barnett is better.

Give it a rest Jake. I might not even watch the game now after all your predictions. lol. After we beat aTm, just how bad do we get blasted vs. bama?

? so i can't given my opinion anymore?

I'll go with can win. The only game that UT has played that beats A&M at Kyle Field was UF IMO. And that is based off a dominating second half.

If the crystal ball said expect 60 mins like the half against UF, I would probably fall closer to feeling it.
agreed. that team that played the 2nd half of FL could hang with, and maybe beat, anyone you put in front of them.

eh, stats are what they are. GArrett, and Barnett for that matter, affect how teams game plan offensively.

this debate about who's better is a little silly. i think Garrett has better measurables, and is maybe a tick faster. they're both strong, both have great moves, both disrupt the qb, even when not getting sack stats.

i think you could flip a coin on this debate, and no one would really lose. i'll say this regarding Barnett, he's showed up big time in big spots in big games. and that's a pc he hadn't brought to the table until this year. Barnett is, and has been, a stat machine.

now he's making game changing plays.

so, if you were to ask would i trade him for Garrett? the answer is a solid NO. even if he is a little better, i don't think the gain is so great that it'd make a difference either way.

their both great players, and i have a feeling both players will play exceptionally well this weekend. i'm betting they're both motivated a little bit for this one.

What it comes down to is that UT can't get behind early like they have been. Georgia and Florida are teams that are down right now with a lot of injuries and youth. They had the right attitude to start, but the talent gap between TN and those teams took over in the second half. TN and TAMU don't have a talent gap, TN will need to play disciplined but aggressive football to stay in it. If they get sloppy or feel sorry for themselves then they will be run out of the building. I think TN came in to every game this season thinking they were big dogs only to be smacked with a newspaper right away, hopefully the Georgia game gave them some perspective that they can be beat by some mediocre teams if they don't do their job.

As someone else pointed out, if that team that showed up in the second half against VTech and Florida shows up then they will win easily. If the team that showed up in the 1st half against Georgia, playing soft and making dumb mistakes, shows up then it will be a looooong day.

agreed. that's really the only question anyone can have about TN at this point, is "which one shows up?", 1st half TN or 2nd half TN?
