Well the knock on this offense has been it's simplicity.. Good teams adjust and Tennessee hasn't had a good counterpunch.. Definitely something they're going to have to address..
No one had played them that way all year. It was something they obviously weren't prepared for..Lack of misdirection, reverse/speed reverse, counters, middle screens, hot routes, waggles.
No answers for Vandy putting 8 in the box and could not make them pay so they kept doing it. We didn't seem to know what to do because we were confused about who was coming. I don't if it was JA or the sideline. This was talked about on the 104.5 morning show.
I don't believe it is an Offense problem but a play calling problem and, as others noted, our Defense can't stop the sisters of the poor and allows long, clock eating drives. Many of us are upset with the defense and want something done but we also have an offense problem that must be fixed…..in the 2nd half. We scored less in the 2nd half in 7 of our games. Why? Many of us complained that Heupel takes his foot off of the gas.

OK. 10 17
NMST. 21 21

VAN. 21 3

Some might argue that some of this gap is caused by allowing 2nd and 3rd’s to play in the 2nd half against ETSU and UAB but even then, it appears to me that Huepel takes his foot off of the gas and doesn’t allow his 2’s and 3’s to ball out. What are your opinions? Any concern’s?
