First off, nobody was realistically expecting us to win that game and if you were you need to chill. Despite them winning the game tonight we actually made Alabama look really bad. Sacks, missed tackles, Kamara, and Hurd making their defense look like a joke. If they somehow make it to the playoffs they absolutely will not win. Chance Hall showed out during Georgia but the last play where he got Dobbs sacked you can literally blame that on him being a Freshman. I'm not upset at all about this game. There were mistakes made just about everywhere but especially on Alabama's side. They were celebrating like they just won a championship game, give that some thought.

I see what you're saying OP and I don't disagree. However, UT made more mistakes tonight, which is why they lost.

By they way, I have a good friend that's been a life-long Bamer fan. He's from there, so he's not a fair-weather fan. The reason they celebrated is because that's nine in a row. They hate UT and they love the fact that it's been nearly a decade since our guys have won a game against them.

UT had about the success I thought on offense, but Bamas OL looked like ours and our DL looked like theirs.

That's not why the players were celebrating. I doubt most of their players were Bama fans up until they were being recruited. We were just another blow out win for them last year at 8 in a row. They won a game which they could have easily lost and they do respect the talent that Tennessee has.

I was surprised by how much they were celebrating.

Every championship teams has good games and bad. If you can think back to 98 we barely beat Syracuse, and we don't even need to talk about ARK.

Things happen, good teams play worse than they should and bad teams play better than they should.

Check out the game thread, up to page 48, on the Tidefans site. It was glorious...for a while.

They don't like Verne or Gary.
They were blaming Kiffin.
They were in utter disbelief for most of the game.

Neither Syracuse or Arkansas were bad teams in '98. Far from it in fact.

Bama's awesome. If they blow you out it's because they're a dynasty. If they barely win it's because they were tired and played bad. If they lose it's because they gave you turnovers. Gotta hand it to Saban his excuse game is strong.

a LOSS would have made them look bad, we have some of the dumbest fans around, they continued the streak and they know they are still in the hunt for the sec west and still have hopes of something special. we will beat them and when we do will act much more crazy about the win than they did tonight, book it!!!!!! our day will come but no matter what some want to think and say, we lost and that all that matters when it comes down to alabama and tennessee, i do not care if we cheat and beat them, it is a win and i would be crazy happy about it. i am a old timer and all that matters is the W AND THAT ALL THAT NEEDS TO BE SAID.
GO BIG ORANGE
WIN THE NEXT GAME

Their program is long past the place of celebrating wins over 3-3 teams.

So a defense that held the Vols to 14 points looked like a "joke?" I'm a Bama guy, and I think the Vols are one of the best offenses I've seen this year, and your team should have just two losses, at the most, right now. Definitely should have beaten OU and Florida. But Bama's defense is definitely not a joke. Last I checked, they sacked Dobbs five times. Tennessee is much farther along than some people realize in terms of contending for an SEC title. The record means nothing right now, considering the way the Vols have lost games they should have won. They came into Bryant-Denny and played head to head with a Bama team loaded with NFL talent.

There was significant chatter down there about the Vols and the need to keep us in their rear view mirror prior to the game. Most of the chatter was by the fan base, but just like our team, their team is influenced by the fandom.

You may also know about the cigar tradition, which speaks to the fact that the game is significant to them—even if the Vols have been unranked. The bottom line is that they love beating us and Saban acknowledges Bryant's former view of UT and the significance of winning this game.

LSU will beat Alabama in two weeks. They will not be in the SECCG or in the playoff. If we can run for 172 yards against them so can Fournette.

From my viewpoint, I think that we looked really good tonight and we forced Bama to play very good to come back and beat us. They did what a 8th ranked, once beaten team is supposed to do. They made plays on their last drive and got the ball in the endzone..

Bama fans.are the worst. They never credit a team for beating them.

I agree with the premise of your post but Arkansas was ranked #8 and undefeated when we played them. Syracuse was a damn good team that year too. We were a great and lucky team that year.

Seem pretty douchy to celebrate winning over a team 9 times in a row when said team has been crappy.

What irritates me the most is that apparently the only reason we competed was because "they were tired". Give me a break.

It doesn't work that way. Right now, LSU is having a pretty tough game with W. KY. No doubt LSU will win that game. Bama defeated Tennessee in a hard-fought game. Tennessee is a lot better than the record indicates. Neither Bama's game today, or LSU's right now, will have anything to do with the game in Tuscaloosa in two weeks. Tennessee running for 172 yards against Bama is a credit to the Vols, but it doesn't mean squat about how many yards Fournette will get against Bama, or how many yards Henry will get against LSU.
