At the 10-11 minute mark to go in the 2nd half, Keon and Jaden relentlessly attacked the basket and repeatedly scored and/or got fouled. The pushing the ball up court and letting these 2 go at it needs to continue and be our bread and butter.
Going through Pons and Fulkerson just hasn’t been cutting it. Vitale said at one point they’ll have to get Fulkerson back in the game to have a chance, won’t surprise me if he has the worst +/- today. He’s just not a PTP’er. But Springer and Johnson are. Once teams start focusing on stopping them and there drives, and them drawing the D with their drives, then VJ and Santi start getting open 3’s again. Pons and Fulky will get easier baskets in the paint again.
Also, Johnson is the one we need bringing it up the floor against pressure and presses, not Vescovi. His quickness and ability to get by defenders is elite

I’ve been saying this forever. At a certain point Barnes needs to realize the opposing team has 5 fouls 7 minutes into the 2H. Every single offensive play for the next 5 mins there should be a drive into the paint with Johnson or Springer to pick up fouls.
We did that and it was the difference.

They are men among boys. Looks like Barnes finally took off the bridle. Sadly, Fulk has gone full stop. He brought nothing tonight.

Why haven't they done this all season? 🤔
I love Barnes, I really do. He’s a great person and a great coach. But sometimes I think he is a little too reluctant to change things, (his reluctance to play a zone at times when a team is killing us in the paint but can’t make an outside shot befuddles me). But IMO there’s no way he can go back to trying to play through the post guys after what KJ and JS displayed tonight. They are freshman, and they’re gonna have spells still where they don’t make the best decisions and have TO’s, but I’d rather let them work through that stuff now and keep getting better and better. And learn how to run our offense off these two.

Barnes has had the reins on them. Can’t blame anyone but himself. It’s obvious this team needs to play transition basketball to play to their potential because our 1/2 court offense is like TN football with JG at QB

^^^ this is a dumb take. The Chronic Barnes Bashers refuse to acknowledge that CRB has brought the 2 freshman along perfectly.

What happened in the last 12 minutes was moving JJJ to the 4 and going with Pons at the 5, with Fulk giving him a breather. To do that Springer needs to be healthy, and it helps for Vescovi to be full speed as well. I really hope we pull out that death lineup more. They’ll need to hit their deep shots but they can do it.
