Heup is licking his chops watching that uga defense implode last night on big pass plays.

Hooker vs. Young to decide the SEC Champ and an invite to the playoffs.

I don’t know if we’ll win either of the matchups, but we’re not losing to anybody in the East.

I want to believe that. Problem is, Bama has players who have been in their NFL-like S&C program for 3 or more years. Juco, transfer, and recruits we have coming in, have not had that. So while I would love to see your hope materialize, it's not likely. Least not until we have players on Bama's level of development.

Also remember, like @utfantilidie mentioned a few weeks ago, Georgia’s defense has like 5-7 starting super seniors on it and will take a huge hit going into next season.

Idk it’s conceivable Tennessee takes a step forward and Georgia takes a step back. People forget we left a lot of plays on the field as well. I don’t for a second think we will be better than them in talent next year but saying we have no chance I think is ignorant. We’ve got a long road though to get on the same talent level as Georgia and Bama.

Just an aside but I just have that feeling if Heupel can land a couple top ten classes, he can really make a run at the East. Just have to figure out how to recruit on a higher level and most of that will be after the “investigation”.

Was our offense exciting this year? Absolutely. Am I hopeful it’s better next year? Yes. But will it be? Unknown. We are losing Payton and Jones. Tillman and Hooker have not said absolutely that they are coming back.

Having said all of that yoir predictions are putting the cart way before the horse. First, our offense isn’t on Bamas level. We don’t have anything close to Young. I love Hooker but being honest, he isn’t in Young’s league. Look how good Bamas OL was against the best college defense in the past 15 years. And being honest again, we don’t have a Metchie and Williamson. Tillman is good but would not start over either one.

As far as not losing to anyone in the East? Sorry but I think you are wrong. UGA will reload next year. They will likely have much better QB play. They will again field a very good defense. Will we even have a full roster? And Florida? Well all I can say is what have you seen that makes you think we can beat UF?

We say the same thing about Bama nearly every year. They will take a step back from losing all that talent. They don’t. And neither will UGA in reality. Will the defense be as dominant as this year? Likely not. However thinking UGAs defense will go from dominant to middle of the pack is laughable.
