We’re 4-0…

But a lot of you are acting like we’re 2-2.

I sincerely hope the players don’t have the same loser mentality that our fanbase has.

This is the first time we can say this team can beat anybody on their schedule.

Just enjoy it.
I don’t think anyone on this forum thinks we are bad by any stretch. I think if we are healthy going into the Bama game we have a good shot, the problem is if we have injuries on the OL we are in deep deep trouble especially at tackle.

No one is acting like UT is 2-2. Don't know the purpose of the thread unless it's just to argue for no reason. The "I'm a better fan than you" mentality is strong with the OP.
Agree 100%. I find myself visiting this board less frequently than the past as every comment is attacked in some form of fashion.

I miss the days one can give his/her opinion and then having an intelligent conversation, even if there is disagreement.

The Vols are a good team, borderline he’s rid the O line is in tact. The defense front is elite but we still don’t have a true answer regarding our secondary.

This team can go the distance if they stay heathy and if Nico can take over a game when needed. There will be a time when our running game struggles (beyond the Oklahoma game) so Nico and company must make plays.

Go Vols!

Nope. You got it wrong for most of us, though a few probably match your take. The rest of us are realists, especially as it regards our thinness with the OL.

Just like clockwork we get one of these threads every week.

Hey everyone, if you're not sunshine pumping here, you're not welcome.

The Vols are going undefeated, Nico is going to win the heisman and the Heupel statue is going up right beside Neyland's.

I chalk it up to a lot of us being stung by UT football before. Too many times we have been contenders in September just to be losers by November. Season is long and we have a lot to figure out before we can truly belong in the upper echelon.

I trust Heupel but I don’t trust our thin OL. The OU game was rougher than people are giving credit for. Nico and the OL cannot give up multiple strip fumbles against a team with a pulse on offense.

First time? Really? There's actually been many times over the years you could have said that. It just hasn't happened much, if at all, in the last 15 years.

I think it is very much a generational thing. The younger folks appear to have far less appetite for civility and decorum as they grew up with online conversation. The slightly older folks around here grew up having actual conversations in person and I believe it translates.
Point is, they don’t know how rude and off putting they are.

Who is acting like we are 2-2? I don't buy it this post is just rage-bait meant to get "likes". They've decisively won every game they've played and this place is more optimistic than it's been in YEARS.

Even the most pessimistic person would see this team is easily a 10-2 playoff team and definitely *could* beat anyone on their schedule but this is definitely not the first time you could say that. We have no better chance of winning every game than we did in 2022 and that's just 2 years ago 😂.

I'm sure there are some people who are anxious about upcoming games but the BVS is very deeply rooted here for VERY good reason.

You sound like someone who just became a Vols fan in 2024 😂

Will they though? I know Bama will. But the others should be wins. No ones opinion changes with a win over Kentucky. I guess a loss certainly tells us something

I disagree. This is the toughest 4 game stretch on the schedule. I think we win 3 or even all 4 of these games because there's only 1 road game but ...

Arkansas - a road SEC game at NIGHT. Saban already said the only easy road game in the SEC is Vandy lol
Florida - a team we always find a way to lose to every when we have no business losing to them
Bama- self explanatory
Kentucky - proving to be scrappy trouble makers

These games will tell us everything we need to know. The Georgia game will tell us something but we probably lose no matter how good we are.

There are 2 factors in everybody's reactions/expectations.

1. Basic personality
2. Age/experiences

Some are naturally more cautious than others in every aspect of life and in general people become more cautious with age.

In general the older like me (83) are more cautious in expectations because we've seen more "Archie Who?" and "we're gonna curb stomp the Gamecocks" games than have the younger.

I don't think many people are considering Nico as a starter won't really have that much experience as a starter until he makes the Bama game at Neyland. By then he'll have almost an entire season of starts behind him and the improvement that comes with that experience. He peaks at just the right time and I believe if we remain healthy on both sides of the ball we tear the Tide up. They gave up over 30 points to UGA most all of it through the air? That plays to our strengths.

We are where I expected us to be and if we are healthy I expect to beat Bama. UGA, will be tougher IMO because we play them there. I want to get back to the Fulmer days when we dominated UGA.

So, we should expect to a huge improvement over the next two games?

I hold back saying elite/great, until we see. Ore from the secondary and the biggest factor, o line health.

Not saying we are not a good team for the ones that like to play words.

You mean the 90's, because Fulmer had a losing record against Richt.
