Way too early 2020 Schedule

I am glad we moved UGA to later in the season. As far back as I can remember Tennessee has always been slow starters but finished strong. It never made sense to have the UGA, Bama, Florida gauntlet usually proceeded by a great OOC matchup like the Oklahoma one next year so early in the season.

Should be 8-4 or 9-3 if CJP is worth his salt.

Any better and I’ll be ecstatic. I don’t want to consider less than 7 wins.

I miss the November days of cupcake, Ole Miss, UK, and Vandy. That’s why UT usually finished strong.

We lose key playmakers. I predict 7-5 best and 5-7 worst. Need another year of recruiting and experience before being able to compete. Also have to get better than 7th in SEC recruiting. Hope I am wrong, but must be realistic.
I was told until we beat Will Muschamp blah blah blah. We beat him.

I was told Vandy owned us until we beat them blah blah blah. We beat them.

I was told Mizz was unbeatable at home this year blah blah blah. We beat them at home.

I was told we would not win more than 5 games this year. Won 7 and still 1 left.

I was told there was a better chance of being struck by lightening than going to a bowl. That 1 game left is a bowl game.

My point isn't "We're back", my point is things have been going our way a little more than they have and " history" isn't undefeated anymore.

Oh yea, all those times I was told "I'm just being realistic". Realistic took a hit too.

And, I will lay even money right now that we will win at least one of Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama, or Florida. If we pick off one of Alabama, Georgia, or Florida, we will be in the race for the SEC East in November 2020.

Bonus Question: if you could improve the schedule above for 2020, what would you switch around to help Tennessee?

Would like to put Florida further back in the schedule

Behr, quite an articulate outburst. I like it!

I know you alteady know this, but Its always gonna be something. Those kind of guys have just as many excuses as they claim others do.

If Pruitt is what we all hope he is, then he'll overcome playmakers leaving, that happens every year to every program. He'll figure out how to make it all work. Or he won't. Us Worrying about it ain't gonna matter. Obviously this is a message board and its purpose is to post opinions. There's mine.

We've got a real shot at winning one of these...
Tua-less bama is less lethal.
OK personnel losses may equalize our game especially since it's early
UGA/UF will be good, but don't think either will have a QB like Tua or Burrow who just takes the game over, so if our D is dialed in, we should keep it closer

I'm going OK or UF, though history says we sneak up on UGA before the others.

In ten years it’ll be, “We’ve only won 5 Nattys in 10 years, that’s only a .500 record. Jury’s still out on Pruitt.”

Bama and Florida at home is helpful and finally breaking up the gauntlet is great. I believe Tennessee will be the surprise team nobody saw coming next season.

If we can get the qb play improved we can be in contention for the east. If not 7 or 8 wins in regular season. We have to have more consistant qb play from whoever is the starter next year.

Charlotte played in a bowl game this year as does Georgia State later today. I hope our team starts the year off by totally concentrating on beating Charlotte and becoming 1-0

And also we need to win big enough for the back up to get game expierence as well. If we don't beat Charlotte enough for back up to play at the least the whole 4th qtr. we are headed for 7 or 8 game win season. Our backups should be able to play the entire 4th qtr with the same offensive scheme as when we started the game so they will be ready to play in case of injuries.

We need to start beating Florida and Georgia. And i thing were not far from doing that.

I think we beat ga before we beat fla. I think fla will be the team to beat for the east next year. Mullen is a very good coach. I noticed one thing he did a lot of other coaches would not have done. When Trask threw an int. early he kept right on with his same game plan. I have seen other coaches who would have gone conservative, but he didn't he stuck with his game plan. Had he gone conservative fla would have got beat. He is a great coach imo.

Mullen really has had no choice but to stick with the run game as Florida hasn’t been able run the ball all year.
