Watson Brown was at the complex today ...

If he's so insulted by the offer, he can stay the hell in Murrrvulll and keep mowing fields and washing practice uniforms. I don't see BCS schools lining up at his door to hand him a job. Just another arrogant Gym Class Hero who thinks winning games in front of parents and no lifers on Friday means something.

Somebody woke up in a bad mood today, whats wrong was your cinimax out last night?

Arrogant? There's no evidence that he's been campaigning for the job. Fulmer and him had talked about it, and Fulmer had apparently mentioned a grad asst. job. That is where the insult comes. If Fulmer wasn't really serious about bringing the guy in, then don't make any offers, but don't insult the guy with a grad. asst. job.

Did this guy Quarles do something heinous to you as a child or something? Why all the vemon
There is nothing more annoying in all of sports than the multitude of rubes and second raters coaching at podunk high schools across America who think they're Bill Belichick or Pat Riley. They're coaching in backwater outposts for a reason. That's where they belong.

The fact Gym Class George would be insulted by an offer 99% of his high school bretheren would jump at shows his arrogance. If he's waiting on some BCS school to show up and offer him something better, I hope he likes washing jocks and socks.

Quarles is successful at what he does. He has a family and doesn't wanna go through the whole GA mess. What exactly is arrogant about that? He isn't sending his resume to BCS schools trying to get a job and is perfectly content where he is. I, too, don't understand the need to make accusations and insults about a guy's character just because he doesn't pounce all over a GA position. It isn't like he is just getting out of college or anything.

Oh there is something more annoying all right. Its know it all self absorbed wantabes like yourself judging anyone and everyone they see. As if your opinion is the only one that matters and everyone else is a bunch of "rubes and second raters"

..but his reputation as an offensive coach is good. He's run wide open, spread passing attacks, as well as option style running attacks. He's an offensive mastermind.

That said, I don't see him at UT. I would be surprised.

His record as a head coach is due to the fact he took mostly impossible jobs. Vandy, Cincy (before skollie limitations had time to take effect), UAB (no way the powers that be will allow that program to outshine tuscaloosa).

He's got an extremely awful record as a head coach. Are his offenses deceptively good or something?

Quarels hasn't come out and said this, hat. But it is an insult to go up to a guy that has won 99 out of 100 and offer him a grad asst. job when the likes of Cutcliffe, Malzahn, and Jimmy Ray Stevens didn't accomplish half as much as this guy has done on that level.

For the last time, Cutcliffe started out as an unpaid volunteer coach.

I didn't know he said it insulted him. All I heard was that he wasn't interested in the position. Maybe he did say it, though.

Stevens came to Tennessee from the University of Florida. News Flash, TVA: Coaching in Gainesville>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Coaching in Maryville.

He didn't say it. Hat is just looking for a reason to go on a Jihad right now.

But I am saying that it is an insult for Fulmer to even discuss that to Quarels. If Fulmer doesn't want the guy on staff, then he shouldn't be talking with him at all about ANY position on the team. Else, if he was serious, then you don't go to that guy talking about a G.A. position. Not when you've got the likes of Luke and Roper on the sidelines that can't be any better than a guy that has had prior coaching experience at Furman and has won 99 out of 100 games.

Spurrier hired Jimmy Ray from somewhere. Where did Spurrier find Jimmy Ray?

Furman? That's so ridiculous, it makes promoting a guy who's never called a play look like inspired thinking.

What do the actions of Steve Spurrier possibly have to do with Tennessee's hiring practices? Also, 63-7 in Florida high school football impresses me a lot more than anything one can do in the utter wasteland that is the Tennessee prep scene.
