Does anyone else think that first half performance by Ole Miss was a lot like the Tennessee of old. They came out and were rattled early. They had several unforced turnovers and they had one person score most of their points and keep them "close". The Rebels didn't seem to have much of a game plan at all and seemed very confused at times.

I had kind of forgotten what that was like.... but I have seen a lot of that at Tennessee in the last 15 years.

It's amazing now to see our poise and confidence on the floor.

You are correct, Freak. It is so refreshing that we are not living in those days anymore. I remember the loss in Oxford last year. This is one game that I REALLY wanted.

Yeah while i was watching it i thought the same thing, they seemed very confused and in awe of our press.

They were. Maybe I'm just a worrywort but I fear opposing teams that have a good post player(s) will learn to pass over the press for too many easy buckets especially the second time around, though South Carolina didn't.

Not many SEC teams have quality post players.

I think the Vandy win had a lot to do with the fast start against Ole Miss. That is what the rivalry win did for UT, as opposed to what the rivalry loss did to VU, who lost to UGA on their home court.

I caught most of the first half on the radio, had to pick up later. Another SEC WIN

From the first half vibe, it sounded like a beat down. Did Missy try to play speed ball to make ground? Headed to the recaps...

It was amazing to me how much TN looked like the Rick Pitino Kentucky teams. The speed and energy. I remember the days of Ron Mercer when KY was all over the court and pressing teams into oblivion. That's what I saw today when I checked the replay on Yahoo. I watched the Jefferson Pilot broadcast and the speed and pressure was awesome.

As I find myself saying a lot these days, I like your optimism Chip. However, if Bradshaw and Lofton appear as quick as Mercer and Derek Anderson were, you might want to invest in new video equipment.
