Yea well how's that working out for ya????

*****'s don't equal wins.

You came on here trolling about how much of a struggle recruiting has been for us... how those great recruits we aren't getting are "going to south carolina now."

I simply let you know that you are wrong... Pretty quickly, I might add.

The idea that the Brees offense didn't include a running game is a myth.

Here's an excerpt from a article covering the 2000 game between Indiana and the Boilermakers.
Rose Bowl bound
Purdue earned its first trip to Pasadena since the 1966 season when it beat Indiana with ease. Drew Brees was his usual efficient self -- 20-of-29 passes for 216 yards, plus 10 carries for 85 yards -- and Montrell Lowe took it right at a soft Hoosier defense, running for 208 yards and four touchdowns.

When's the last time we had a back run for 200 yards.

If Chaney had a running game, he'd use it. That's on Harry H.

So you pick an excerpt from a game against a team that was twice as bad as this year's UK team? Nice.

Not the point.
What game do you want?

Point is, he's never had a successful running game. I just looked back through the stats from 03-04-05 on the Big 10 site. Never better than 6th in the conference in rushing...against Big 10 defenses.

He ran the ball out of the spread/shotgun as well.

Okay
Michigan Purdue 2000
Michigan Purdue
First downs 19 32
Rushed-yards 29-174 43-244
Passing yards 256 286
Sacked-yards lost 0-0 0-0
Return yards 23 16
Passes 26-35-0 32-45-1
Punts 4-41.5 1-41.0
Fumbles-lost 1-1 1-0
Penalties-yards 8-66 2-20
Time of possession 27:50 32:10

Looks pretty balanced.
What's a successful run game when you're in a run dominated conference.

Berfore the game Chaney told the announcers he was going to "expand" the playbook for Worley. Again, when defense can predict what you are going to do, it is that much easier to defend. Face it, UT was never going to win that game. Go back in the season to Bray. When he was playing and faced solid defenses, he was not that spectacular. He has a long way to go. I also would prefer not to hear anything else about him leaving early. He would need to gain 30 lbs to be a solid draft pick. No one in their right mind would draft him looking like he does now.

Anyone can do what Chaney is doing. Which is to be predictable. In fairness, he is working with very little. As for Simms, he should look into being a GA or something. His confidence is totally gone and it showed.

As to you the fans, relax. Dooley has done the right things so far...maybe a little later than I would have, but he is making the right calls. He is a thoughtful guy. If I were a betting man, I would say there will staff changes at season's end.

When I heard him say he expanded the playbook for Worley, my son looked at me and I looked at him and we echoed UHOHs.
