If the Hogs hadn't fumbled, we were in trouble of losing our first game. Would we still have played Mississippi St in the SECC or would it have been the Hogs again? Still would have played in National Championship game with one loss.

Every team that has won a championship has had a call/play/ball bounce their way.
As this thread has shown, there was other plays in the game that went the opponents way. It's called football.

Now, now Charger. You know better than that! UT is the only team to get a lucky break in our NC season. Hell, truth be told we didn't even deserve to be there. LOL
It's hard to believe how many of "our fans" cannot just appreciate good things abour our team, players and coaches. They seem to live to find anything negative to cry about.

Jones is a horrible game day coach and couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Dobbs is horrible. I wish we had a good QB. We were lucky to win anything ever at UT. SEC CG much less the national title.

No, not exactly. Tennessee had a 4th and 7 from their own 34 yard line with 1:48 left to play in the game. Tee Martin's pass was to Cedrick Wilson who was at the 45, so it would have been a 1st down. I think it's pretty clear that the Syracuse defensive back, #25 David Byrd, was a split second early and hit him in the back before the ball arrived. It's only questioned because of what a crucial call it was... but it was the right call and the official who threw the flag had a good look at it and never hesitated.
