Watching TCU....

And you can add hiring Kiffin to the list

Davis never gave Kiffin a chance. This may be harsh but his death might be the best thing to happen to that franchise since their last Super Bowl appearance.

Was thinking if we would of got Patterson when Liffin was hired . If the program would be in a better place

I wanted Paterson bad, he was my first choice after Fulmer was fired. Don't think he wants to leave the state of Texas though, however I think it would have been a very good hire if we could have got him. He may be the Texas head coach if the other UT needs a head coach in next 3 years.

If he had been 0-20 in Oakland, his resume still easily would have trumped Dooley's.

The "5-15 record in the NFL" card is way overplayed with Kiffin IMO. I don't like that he shafted us either, but the Raiders were pretty awful when he was hired.....plus you don't have to be the most observant to know that he never had full control of the decision making with that team.

He never had full control of the USC offense either, so what exactly was his resume?

All Dooley's resume was at the time UT hired him was being Nick Saban's errand boy and losing in the 2nd worst conference in D-1.

He absolutely loves TCU also. They gave him a chance. I think he stays.

And again what was Kiffin's? He has something on his resume that Kiffin doesn't as a HC, a postseason win.

Whoop-dee-freakin-do. He beat a MAC team in a bowl game, so he must be better than someone with NFL head coaching experience.

Dooley also lost a bowl game to the ACC version of Kentucky in a de facto home game last year.

You just said that he essentially wasn't the HC because Davis ran the show. So basically he never did anything before he was HC here, right?

Coordinated the most successful offense in college football history...but you're right, beating a MAC team in a bowl game is clearly a superior accomplishment.

UNC would have demolished UK and you know it. Kiffin got raped by a Virginia Tech team that lost to Div. Iaa James Madison the following year. Now, that's what I call impressive.

Exactly, except Sarkisan actually called the plays.

Wait, you are really going to try and credit Kiffin for that? And he never had full control of that offense.

Florida lost a bowl game to the Michigan team that lost to Appalachian State. Clearly that means Meyer sucks even though he has 2 rings.

Oh so it doesn't apply to your boy, it only applies to Dooley. Great reasoning.

That's a great comparison because Meyer and Kiffin's head coaching careers are so similar. Meyer only has two more national championships and conference championships, 3 more bowl wins (possibly 4) and was completely dominant his entire tenure at UF. Kiffin has amassed an impressive career that included getting raped by Houston Nutt, losing to a piece of crap UCLA team and has been mediocre with great talent at USC. Great analogy.

First of all, Virginia Tech didn't go 11-2 in 2009, so your attempted point already fails.

10-3, same difference. Do all 10 of those coaches automatically suck for losing to that team because JMU beat them?

Better than the Georgia team that handed Doofus his ass in 2010.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Great point. Because we know that Kiffin would have stomped UGA with an all-freshman offensive line, Matt Simms, and Tauren Poole at running back. Also, he would have dominated without Dan Williams and Eric Berry defensively. That's just a given, right SGM? Oh wait, it's not. What is a given is that you have your entire head up Lane Kiffin's ass.

Yeah, that UCLA team was loaded with NFL talent, especially that amazing QB.

So pretty much, you have:

1. Bragged about Kiffin being a head coach while also saying Al Davis controlled the team. Also said that Al Davis was a moron, which would give us the reason why he hired Kiffin.

2. Bragged about Kiffin orchestrating the USC offense, but forgetting that key point of Sarkisian being the OC as well.

3. Bashed Dooley for losing to UNC and UGA while defending Kiffin's losses to UCLA and a beatdown by Ole Miss.

And you wonder why people do not take your seriously and think you got a crush on Kiffin?
