Out team looks nothing like them, on either side of the ball. Both teams are dynamic and explosive. Speed is everywhere. It’s remarkable how far away we are compared to these teams.

Honestly, after today I don’t know how we possibly catch up from a talent perspective. It’s a sad reality, but we are a long way from solving our roster deficiencies.

We beat that Auburn team last year. That's what the sunshine pumpers say.

We beat that Auburn team last year?

Seems they've improved. Seems we've become worse.

All it takes is a good coach and two good recruiting classes. Sadly Tennessee has not had either/or for the past 15 years.

We need another two years of recruiting. Just need to flip this roster. This is mostly the same team we've been watching the last two seasons. Can't make a silk purse from a sows ear. Need new players. Clear out butches players. Until then...more of the same

Agreed, but how do you recruit after this? Honestly? How can these guys sell themselves as the answer after today’s loss?

Did you notice how much effort they give? And how they get after it??

A good coach might need 3 or 4 years of recruiting to win a championship but they do not need 4 years of recruiting to beat Georgia State.

This is actually a really good point. There isn’t any comparison between our athletes and theirs, and yet they still wore us out.

It was worse than that. GS's coach out schemed and coached Pruitt in every facet of the game. Even coming out at half time the announcers were talking about the differences in the teams coming out of the locker rooms.

GS did not do anything exotic or wild, they just lined up in short yardage and ran it down Tennessee's throat. Once they saw Tennessee had no answer to a simple option play they kept dialing it up. Once they saw Tennessee had no answer to the 7/8 yard dig and curl routes they kept dialing it up.

Maybe some of the “Butch was the worst” crowd will finally let it go. Honestly I had no opinion on Pruitt except so many fans on here were bragging about his defensive mind being so great and how this staff was developing the talent. Let’s see either one of those things happen before we crown him the king.

Hard to argue against your examples. This is awful. I thought we were a 6-6 to 7-5 team, but I never thought we would lose this game.

Propst, Fisher and Saban are not there to guide him how to coach, anymore. True colors are showing.

I thought the same. But as soon as JG slid and didn't dive for the first down I felt Tennessee was in trouble. As soon as the announcers started talking about the teams coming out of of the locker room I realized I was completely wrong and all of my worst case scenarios were correct.

That slide was a crucial play in the game. GSU then took that in a 15+ play drive and scored. Changed the dynamic of the game at a critical moment, IMO.

It was a huge momentum swing and signaled that GS wanted it more.

It's going to be hard. You try to convince them that they are what this program needs to win. That and immediate playing time.

This roster has way too many guys that don't have the talent or fire to compete at this level. And I wish we'd stop taking transfers and jucos. Rarely are they going to be an answer to our problems. A waste of a scholarship most of the time. JMO.

Haven’t we been doing this for over a decade though?
