The state of Tennessee is underrated imo. We have some good athletes. They are not like Florida, Georgia, and Texas but they are good. They aren't BCS type game changes but their are play makers.

That was a great game. I saw two plays I've never seen ran before in the 4th quarter of that game.

1. Maryville rolls out left, has a lineman pull to show a screen look right, wr runs a screen and go route for a TD.

2. Alcoa drops back to pass, qb hands off to a wr on a draw reverse.

Good lord are they really any different from the other guys on the team? Why do you say they are the "core" of the team? Just because they are from Tennessee? There is only 2-3 guys on the list that have even started a game here yet so I just don't see calling them the core of the team. I would say Bray Hunter Rogers Lathers AJ Maggitt and Couch are the core. To say every player on that list make plays when only 4-5 of them have ever been in a game is a bit overstated. Having 11 instate scholarship players over 3 years is embarrassing for a school like Tennessee. Don't get me wrong I love the instate guys we have but overall outside the 2011 class our instate recruiting has basically been non existent.

Agree with you here.

Not sure how it is embarrassing, seeing as we have gotten who we have wanted instate for the most part since Dooley has been here.

Misses By Year

2013: Jalen Ramsey, Jordan Wilkins
2012: Itavius Mathers, Andrew Jelks, and Will Redmond
2011:Jabriel Washington

It is not like we are missing out on a boatload of prospects, there just are not all that many prospects in the state that we are interested in.

Your right there haven't been that many instate guys we have missed on but I do believe there were a few more instate guys we should have recruited. Either way embarrassing wasn't the right way to describe it.
