...and I’m sick to my stomach. Watching a new staff, with inferior talent, go at it with a Top 10 team is disheartening.

Satterfield is a great coach and had me thinking how important previous head coaching experience is. Then I remembered Butch was a previous head coach too.

Ugh...

Would take Satterfield in a heartbeat.

Just curious...as much as I wanted Butch gone, if we know what we know now about his replacement, should we have just rode it out a couple more years??

Not after seeing Butch’s coaching hires for 2017......

Some are accountable for the players in their squad and take the time to teach them how to play the game the way they want their guys to play it.

Others? Well they talk about their time with Saban and whine about the talent level while doing jack and squat to actually develop the talent they have.

The odd thing is that when his name came up as a possibility when Butch Jones left, folks on this board said Satterfield wasn't good enough. I think Satterfield is going to be successful pretty much anywhere he goes. He's a good coach and has very solid ethics. I hate that he left App, but I wish him well. Go Cards!

I’m just one guy, but Butch consistently underachieved and did have that 4-8 season. He also was a very bad talent developer. I’m glad he is gone.......they just picked the wrong replacement. This is coming from someone who was excited when Pruitt came.

Don’t get me wrong I wanted better (wanted Petersen or Patterson) but at the time it was way better than freakin Greg (for me).

Haha. Its stuff like that that amazes me when people are so damn trigger happy to fire our coach.

Satterfield was my hands down favorite. Comparing his resume to Butch is ridiculous.

UT absolutely should have pursued him.
