So, bit of an odd question and was wondering if anyone had been in the same predicament.

I originally had plans to go to the LSU game with a friend who is an LSU fan this year, but his wife booked a cruise that leaves that day (October 8) and my wife and I are also going on the cruise with them now.

Anyway, on to my question. Does anyone know if or how I could go about watching the game while on a cruise ship. That evening will be a night at sea. Figured it would be cool if we could watch it by the pool on the ship or something. I haven't been on a cruise in 23 years, so I wasn't sure if the purchased wifi would be good enough to watch it or what. I have fubo, but I know it checks location so I also didn't know if I would be able to get channels on a cruise ship. Or do cruise ships have TVs somewhere they'll put on a football game?

Thanks for any info and personal experiences.

It depends on the ship. I know on Royal Caribbean we’ve seen games on ships that have a sports bar as well as the occasional game a various bars.

Usually at night they play movies by the pool.

Check out cruise critic forums for detailed cruise info for all lines.

First of all, lucky duck lol.. when we went on Royal Caribbean you can purchase a wifi package, so worst case scenario you can probably watch the game on your phone…

Do you have a firestick or roku device? Could probably make watching on the room TV worst case scenario instead of your phone.

Yea the sports bar is your best bet. Give the bartender a good tip and get on a first name basis with them as soon as you board the ship and they will take care of you as long as they have the channel. Hopefully we will be 4-0 going into that game and it will be on CBS or ESPN which are two channels they will surely have. If we end up on ESPNU or SECN you may be out of luck. Hope you have a fun trip either way. I have had bad luck with streaming on cruise ships in the past but it might be an option depending on the cruise line. I would ask someone before paying for it. Some sites are blocked. But if it would work I think paying for one day of WiFi is worth seeing the game. Make sure you are wearing Orange that day!

The ships i have been on all have a sports bar of some.sort. if the game is on one of the ESPN channels there is a good chance you can watch it in the bar.

Answer: Once you are in International Waters - all American sports channels are signal jammed, and it's only Copa de Oro or EPL there on out.

Not sure what cruise lines youve been on but the sports bars on every ship ive crusied on has ESPN and Fox Sports programming. If the cruise line doesnt show them it has zero to do with international waters.
It's a new technology. Your other options are Rugby or Austrailan Rulez football.

This was true 20 years ago but they now show american sports. Not in the rooms that I’m aware of but in the bars and most of the ships that I have been on in the last few years have a sports bar. The sports bars sometimes get crowed when there is a big game showing. When that happens my first alternative is the bar in the casino. GO VOLS!!!

The last cruise we went on (2019 - pre COVID), I had to get a wifi package to watch UT play basketball in the SECT. We watched on a laptop and the service was expensive and very touchy. Hopefully, they have upgraded.

This....Royal Carribean ships (some of the updated ones) have renovated a sports bar area that has pretty darn good wings and a ton of TVs for games.

I was just on Independence of the Seas this past May and we were watching hockey playoffs, NBA, etc. on there.
