Several things stood out.

1: Jumper graded out very very well. We were slow to the edges a few times but when Cortez was in there, we covered the edge well. Jumper also got the front 6 and 7 in place almost each time.

2: Oline didn't run block well. Not in the first or second half.

3: Dobbs is better when he reads once and runs if it's not there. Limiting his progression simplifies things with him.

4: CMD still doesn't give up on the stupid inside runs to Hurd. Yes, some are necessary but it takes to long to develop and is stuffed at the line almost every time. We were in 3rd and middle to long in the second half a bunch. Clutch passes helped.

5: Kamara needs the ball in his hands a lot more.

6: Malone, Jennings and Wolf are huge mismatches for a majority of teams we play. Croom can be special too.

Watching it again, the first half wasn't nearly as bad as it was live and th second half wasn't as good live. However, I think we made big strides in our offense and defense and am excited about the 3 game stretch upcoming. Very very plausible that Tennessee and Bama are both undefeated when we play each other.

I'm already harping on your second point.

Ecstatic that we won. But we have issues still.

Running game and blocking is actually pretty good

Total rushing 179yards
Hurd 95 yards and nearly averaging 4 yards a carry

I'm curious to see how A&M does this month. Do they crumble after a fast start, like the last few seasons, or do they have staying power? I think Arky was over rated as was UCLA, although UCLA did play Stanford tough.

Be consistent, win the Maxims, and be ready to rock out of the blocks. I want to see a balanced attack and coaching to our strengths as well as hiding any weaknesses. I thought halftime adjustments were superb. Let's roll hard over the opponents the rest of the way. Road at Georgia will be tough, but invaluable to prepare for Texas A&M. GBO!

Hurds determination to get that extra yard or two goes unnoticed more times than not in my opinion.

#1 Kudos to Jumper, Bates, and CM. After the first 1/2 I wondered if we would ever seal the edge or they would 6-7 easy one a all night. Looked like a flashback to 2012. Shoop answered that.

#2 Yeah. This is certainly the weak point still. Although the PB was far better than I feared. UF has a very good front and I expected at least 5 sacks.
That said, I wonder how much can be attributed to UF stacking the box almost all game. Yet we run Hurd right into the teeth of it time after time with no audible out. Perplexing.

Watching it right now. Agree with you that first half wasn't nearly as ugly as it was live. We played ok. Gave up 3 huge pass plays that set up their 3 TDs. We shot ourselves in the foot over and over on offense. Dropped passes and INT killed us. Second half just started. But interesting to watch on TV.

Bates actually played? I missed that.

It is legit to use one thing to set something else up. That said, it is also legit to say the first thing being use less still is not executed very well.

There is no question that we don't execute as well as we should but give credit were its do they answered the call of the HC and played their hearts out. They got better and protected Dobbs that's all you can ask.

"6: Malone, Jennings and Wolf are huge mismatches for a majority of teams we play. Croom can be special too. "

Don't forget Byrd in the slot. He catches everything and he is very strong. We just have not seen his speed. Soon enough, he is gonna catch a slant, have a little space between he and the defender and outrun a whole defense for a TD. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it happens at Georgia.

Byrd is playing with the maturity of a Junior.

I disagree, I think everyone can see how he gets extra yards on poor calls

Tennessee fans see it because we know who he is and watch him week after week. He gets very little recognition and credit outside the league. Herbie even acknowledged it during the BatB.

I have Byrd as an x factor this week. I think hes really found his groove and is a mismatch in the slot with his speed and agility.

Tennessee should use the tools they have and not leave them in the shed this week.

Find a situation for Elliot Berry, Byrd, and AK and the other backs to truly grind on the defense.
