And I have no idea why we offered him a scholarship. Looked like an average high school kicker. He missed a 45 yarder way short and wide. And also missed an extra point. Waste of a scholarship IMO.

Maybe some member of the family is friends with Haslam.
Obviously just feeding speculation but I sure as heck haven't been able to understand why he was offered at all in the first place and in the second place why it happened so early on.
I'm not a coach though...............................
Well, that kills that argument. Never mind then. Just hoping the kid can equate to better than Lincoln and Palardy. Was he at least booming them through the end zone?
he had a bad game.. so what.. I will put my faith in our coaches over the opinions of laymen. I remember quite a few threads like this on DY last year around this time. How did that work out? Dooley has proven that betting against his judgement on a recruit is often a bad idea.
I've been telling you this all month. George seems like a likable young man. He had a nice junior season but he has lost the magic here in his senior year. The Vols have enough problems without taking on an incoming project like that. I hope that he will bounce back but he may have reached his plateau last year. Not worth the risk of giving him a scholly IMHO. We need to find someone on the up slope..a late bloomer perhaps....LOL
