Just finished watching last night's game and I did watch it live. Great come back by the Vols.
I really concentrated on watching JG play. That might be one of the worse games I have
ever seen a UT QB play and I have watched UT football for a long time like
Mallon Faircloth running the single wing. Hopefully the HB kid can take us to the next level
next year.

I recall a term I read in a Sports Illustrated article maybe 50 years ago, referring a pro golfer who had a case of the "yips" from time to time and miss a three foot putt. I continue to believe that JG's problems reside right between his ears. There is no shame in that and I have heard tell of athletes dealing with issues and overcoming them.

Recorded it and plan to delete it without rewatching. Up until the last 5 minutes it was not a well executed game.

Momma Guarantano...it might be better you not read any JG threads...

Or...maybe...any threads discussing Tennessee Football games...

Have you visited The Lady Vols Forum? The Pub? Movies and Music Forum?

Uh, the team and coaches??

YOU!!!!!! You arm chairs are getting old. I played ball on this level and I am sick and tired of hearing from sniveling fans like yourself. You can't find pleasure in the fact this staff and team turned this season around, you have to tear them down every opportunity you have. As I said grow up, understand what your watching, pay attention and given credit where credit is due! Its fine to second guess but when you address players and coaches PUT YOURSELF in their place and remember this, your a FAN which is short for fanatic. You don't have a clue other than your opinion and unless your buying a ticket to the game then just give us your take and don't slam the staff or the kids.

You have your right to voice your opinion but be mindful, if this was your son how would you want people talking about them? Don't tear down these splendid athletes, build them up. Seems you want to degrade them and tear them down. If you don't think these splendid young men don't follow social media your living in a hole. When was the last time you made a mistake? HUMANS MAKE MISTAKES and last i saw our QB, COACHES, AND PLAYERS are all human. Grow the heck up or pull for Bama.

Sorry, but the correct number of exclamation points to use is nine, if you want to be taken seriously. People that use only eight exclamation points clearly don’t really believe in what they’re saying.

Don't need to watch again. What I noticed is that our running backs never really break tackles or make it to the second level. Our run blocking was good at times and bad at times. Running game averaged 3.9 per a carry which is about par for the course this year and the real issue IMO.
Other thing I noticed was that Indiana was more often than not rushing 3 with a spy. This makes throwing more challenging as they were getting decent pressure and we really didn't have a clean pocket most of the night.
I attribute both of the above examples to a really young line. Typically young tackles struggle in pass blocking but I think our entire line other than Trey still needs to add SEC strength for the run game which I'm sure is coming. Not sure how the tackle breaking and making it to the second level for the RB's will improve next year though. Hopefully Gray does but not sure that's his game.
It's easy to blame the entire game on JG every time but there are always other things going on....

The offensive line is better, but still not where it needs to be. The Titans are showing what a power run game can do for you. Still, JG had plenty of time on a number of bad passes. Honestly, the receivers bailed him out on a number of throws.

The D line depended on a lot of side pressure, which let the IU QB get free on a number of occasions.

In short: we are better, but not there. We need depth on both lines, an upper-SEC-level QB, better contain by the LBs, and a RB that is a game-changer. I did think our secondary played quite well.

Was at work day of game. Recorded it. Woke up next morning replay was on and 6 minutes left ,so watched it. Tried listening live but too busy to here much , but radio guys said IU coach told them they were changing everything they do on D from regular season so if Vols studied film it would be a waste of time.
After hearing that I was not at all surprised we only had FG’s at halftime and JG was struggling.
He is just way too slow figuring out what’s going on during a game

Vince Lombardi, Paul Brown, Bill Walsh, Paul Johnson, Mike Leach, Hugh Freeze.

What do they all have in common?

They never played college football.

Get off your high horse and realize that playing gives no one any greater insight or right to criticize, share opinion, debate, or discuss than anyone else.

Playing doesn't equate to greater football intelligence or understanding. The great David Cutcliffe will tell you that. Yes, he is also part of that list of having never played

Don't take the low hanging fruit and use "your" playing time as "your" reason for a team or players better performance. Put in the effort and show "your" work, or go sit on the bench.

There is a saying “ If you can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen “.!
Athletes and entertainers crave fame and attention but when it gets heated want to claim foul!
Guess what it comes with the job, so Coaches. And Players if you can’t take it, change professions

What in the world??? I'm confused. I open the thread, and tried to just point out that the credit for the win streak goes to everyone not just JG (which I thought was your implication) and I get bombed. Did I read something wrong and respond inappropriately, u not understand what I was trying to say (that the credit goes to all) or do you all have me confused with someone else?

For the record UTNoFear, I don't think we've ever even conversed on here. I am not an armchair, have taken immense pleasure in the turn around, and was trying to give credit to everyone, and have spent the past four days following our teams all over creation (football and basketball). I certainly haven't been spending my time on social media or tearing people down. So whatever or whoever you think I am, I am pretty sure I'm not.
