Watch,, it!! Health, exercise etc.

I know no one really gaf, but...

Skraight out the box the On Monsters are more "squishy" as @Orangeslice13 likes to say than the Hoka Bondi 8. We'll see what happens after a few more miles. My newest Monsters have 60.75 the Bondis have 5.0.

This morning was the first run with the Bondis. At 3.84 miles my foot started to hurt some but never got bad and I ran 5.16 miles. So, that's good. It was my first run since last Tuesday.

After reading about metatarsalgia I looked at recommended shoe inserts and one of the top (affordable) inserts recommended was Aetrex and I have a pair my dad bought me that I have in a pair of shoes I never wear. Boon! Imma try them this afternoon in my new Flyers that always hurt the worst.

I can do all this partly because of a bunch of men a women gave their lives so I could. I thank them all and God Bless their families.

I didn't post anything but after @VolNExile posted about the metatarsalgia, I also started down that rabbit hole of reading about it and related conditions. I looked at some of those inserts. Because of nail problems on big toes, I have something going on--and have for a while. I can tell by looking at the inside of my shoes and how they are wearing. Mine is some pain and a little tingling/numbness but unrelated to glucose.

I am in a position with my insurance with hospital bills and those $50 copays for specialists (cardio and ENT for me, GI for wife) that I simply haven't been to a podiatrist. I need to go.

I hate going to the doctor period and I'll try errthang I can first. Even if it was free.

I used to have numbness and tingling with one particular pair of sneaks. For that one (can’t remember the brand), it was because the lacing compressed the blood flow over top of my foot (the high arches thing.) It has never happened again. Soooo many different things to go wrong.

Sympathies to you guys with metatarsalgia. I’ve had plantar fasciitis, and MT sounds 10 times worse.

Another way to possibly avoid a podiatrist: a really good, specialized running store with staff who can custom-design inserts (pedorthists). I discovered the Topos at this store: Foot Rx Running. If relatively tiny AVL has something like this, I’d expect larger cities would too. No doubt lots of con artists, too.

I didn’t have to do the custom stuff. I got as far as “lumbar spinal stenosis” (or Kumar as my phone prefers), and the shoe guy was headed for the inventory.

I tried the "shoe specialist" once and found it a waste of time and he was wrong. Obviously that was just 1, but I'd rather bet on myself.

May not be the wisest decision, but I trust it more.

I don't thoroughly understand HRV (Heart Rate Variability) but I do know a little and I know enough that I want mine to be 45-48. When I got my first watch that measured it in October of last year, it was 38. This morning after my run it changed to 42. Took a long time from 38 to 39 but only about 5 weeks from 41 to 42.

Anyway....ngaf. I know.

Souces watch is getting all souped up to a super watch with a bunch of updates getting ready for their unpacking event in July.

Wonder if @volfanbill still likes his watch and if he likes it better than the 955?

I needed to replace my screen protector so I wanted to go ahead and order another pak. I saw the ones I used before and their rating had gone down. I looked and most of the bad ones were "instructions suck". Lol, they do but it ain't rocket surgery. Pain in the butt, but pretty skraight forward.

Anyway, I did see a brand I've used for my Samsung that now has one for the 965 and they were rated pretty high. I ordered one of each. At least I know one will work.

The original ones are $8 for 3 and these new ones are $10 for 6.

That's all the watch news I got. I knew errbody been waiting on pins and needles for an update.

I’m enjoying the 965 a lot. Just unbelievably busy and too much of this board hurts my brain to read

Long story short, in following suggestions about improving my REM sleep from my watch this morning, I ended up questioning my cholesterol medication. I've been taking it right before bed as instructed for 4 years.

"The most common side effect of all types of statins is muscle pain, which can keep people who take them awake at night and unable to rest."

This may not be an issue, but I will be taking it in the mornings starting tomorrow and finding out. That could be the answer to my muscle cramps in my legs. I can't remember if it started around the same time.

I know how important my sleeping habits are to everyone. Carry on.

It's hard maintaining a balanced load because of the low Aerobic stuff. But I can tell I'm doing better overall since I've started paying attention to all 3. If nothing else it's helped with a routine.

Low Aerobic for me is 113-129 hbpm (that's heart beats per minute not honey bunny pookie mookie). Normal walking is around 109. Power walking after about 10 minutes gets to 132-35.

Fork jumping rope. For now anyway. Lol.

If the rain doesn't get in my way Imma bust that 30,000 today.
