Watch: Five-star Vols commit McKenzie easily benches 405 pounds

With every update I see about this kid's physical profile, the more I realize he's going to be a freak. Imagine how strong and powerful he'll be when he's in a professional weight program at UT for a while. No opposing QB shall be safe. :)

McKenzie, who had to sit out his senior season following a transfer, is showing why 247Sports Director of Scouting Barton Simmons says he might be the most college-ready player in the country. He is currently ranked as the nation's No. 3 player overall by 247Sports and No. 10 overall in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Great video but if you think this kid hasn't been lifting in a professional environment I think you are wrong. Remember what his dad does for a living. He is going to be above the curve in every aspect because of that alone.

Very true, great point. Still, it doesn't mean he won't get stronger. He has the frame to be more of a monster than he already is. He will be a nightmare for opposing lines.

I benched 405 in my senior year of HS. The difference between me and Khalil? It nearly killed me to bench it. He made it look like child's play. The sky is the limit for him when he reaches the weight program at UT. He's going to be a absolute freak!

I bench 315 at 160lbs. Does this mean I can bench 650 at Khalil's weight?!

Jk this kid is a monster!

Will start game 1

Thatz very impressive. I pushed 265 as a 150lb undersized safety in HS and had the highest strength/weight ratio on the team. Double your weight is getting it done on a true technically sound rep (no bounce..no cheat) kudos

In the mid 90s, Tennessee had a 185 lb. safety bench 410. He also ran a 4.5 forty.

Isn't he suppose to be participating in track this year? Honestly any player who isn't an EE should be participating in track to get into some type of shape. Anyways, if he comes in this summer in decent shape him and Owen William can compete and push the rest of the D-line in the weight room.

Heck the D-line needs to workout with the O-line and get them going.

So? When you're that powerful and you're typing a post, do you have to guard against shoving your fingers through the keyboard or mobile device? :aggressive:

I helped put the weights back where they belonged in a weight room once. I want to say I was responsible for all the 10lb'ers and below. Easily one of the most grueling days of my life. I wasn't even supposed to be in there. I don't know how I got in there, it all happened so fast. First I was peeping through a hole, then she saw me, then she screamed, then I ran.. and next thing you know, I'm in a room full of weights, dude tells me to grab the 10s, I'm bent over two 10lb dumbbells, trying to beast them both, straining, and then bam, hernia. Pain, doctor, yadda yadda.
Plot twist: I was like 4, a little pervert checking out my sister's friend (clothed, just a little boy crush), the mega babe would have been about 8, and we were home. My brother told me to "pick those up". Really did get the hernia. Yes, I'm bored, taking a break from writing.

Fwiw, he is also responsible for my broken collarbone, nose, 3 toes, shattered thumb, broken pinky, 12 stitches/scar on my forehead, scar on the back of my head, aannnddd I think that's it.

We're pretty close.

Still bored.

Don't worry folks, I've still got the swag.

Oh, yeah... Also pretty f'in beast mode for KM. I guess this thread wasn't about me. So excited to see him tear through enemy lines like paper machet.

KMac will walk onto campus straight into a starting DT position where he will excell from day 1. Don't expect him to progress from his starting point at the same pace as a typical recruit - he's not a typical recruit. UT's strength and conditioning program will probably be a step back for him unless the UT program is superior to the Oakland Raider's program. This young man has grown up around professional football teams with access to all their training and knowledge. Developmentally, he's probably on par with typical top ranked college junior.

Since his dad is the GM of the Oakland Faders does anyone really believe he hasn't been in their weight room with their strength trainer?

Does anyone really believe KMac hasn't been working out with their D line coach?

He's been working most of his life to become a NFL star and Tennessee is just a stepping stone on the way.

We're incredibly lucky to have him for 3 years and I hope he'll stay and play 4 years.

I got 285 at 160lbs. Did it 4x I never have attempted again. I broke a rib not long after and I've benn gun shy to even go over 200. I can't imagine lifting 405.

Very true but he will still get a lot better. While he may have lifted with NFL players he hasn't played against them. He will def get stronger simply because now he will be spending more time in the weight room and because the players he will be playing against with be stronger and more talented.

I never was into weight lifting. but my greatest feat of strength was, I carried 3 pieces of 3/4 inch plywood about 150 ft. I will never do that again. (I probably weighed about 140 at the time)

also the first time I got Hemorrhoids. :thud:

For the record Kahlil posted that this isn't his max, based on the ease he did it with that isn't shocking. He says he thinks he can get 485 (!) once, will try later this week. Regardless... if his max is over 450Lbs on the bench press at age 18, he's at an elite level.
