Figures lie and liers figure.

He was able to recruit those players to Bama because the emblem on his hat and clipboard. Nick Satan is the genius behind the DBs at Alabama. Pruitt may have learned some of his tricks but is not totally responsible as this video would insinuate

Not so fast....did u see that he made uga have number one pass defense in country his second year and it was with good talent not great......

And I also know and have heard the things about he is a jerk.

But...working with Saban for a few years hopefully has gotten that beaten out of him. Nobody is a bigger jerk than Saban.

Our guys probably need a hammer guy. Schiano really bad choice but think that was the direction they were looking to go. Don't know what to think of all this.

My concern is that every coordinator of Saban's looks like a million bucks. Some do great things (Smart) on their own while others best accomplishment away from Bama is humping a shark..

Just because a DC does good at Ala, or Fla State or even Ga. does not mean they will do well somewhere else. All of these teams have and had talent. The same coach with the talent base at these schools would not be near as good at other schools. So the key is in recruiting, are they a good recruiter?

I went to listen to Pruitt on YouTubeas I'd never heard him talk and at some Alabama press conference. He said uh like a thousand times. Didn't come across to me as someone who will succeed at the SEC pressure cooker level as head man. But maybe he just had a bad day.

Wasn't Shoop supposed to be a great DC as well when we plucked him from Jimmy Frank...asking for a friend

It is Saban's Defense. DC's have come and gone, risen the ranks and come and gone, and Bama still has a defense.

Gus Malzahn's offense, the OC learns it.

Ugh, we're doing it again, hoping for a different result.

Maybe so but Kirby says hi

That’s silly.,,most of your top coaches are terrible public speakers.

Forgive me if I'm not super excited about a getting a long-time Bama guy to come to Tennessee. If he is remotely successful and Saban decides to hang em up...he gone.

Huh?? Doing what again? If Saban and Malzahn are so freaking smart, why not hire away the guy who 'learned it' from them? Worked ok for Georgia>

Don't know....consider me one that thinks it's gonna be REALLY hard to keep Bama's fan base happy if you're the one to follow the greatest college coach of all time. The reaction will be similar to what Holly has received here after following Pat. There are expectations, and they are not easy to meet.

Not sure they're gonna have tons of people wanting the pressure that comes with that. JMO, I know it's got perks. Just....hard to follow Saban.

You prefer "individual", "resiliency", "eye discipline" and "snap and clear"?

I’m sure there are rumors every year about Saban retiring because it strikes fear into the heart of Bama fans everywhere.

He just doesn’t seem ready to retire imo

After reading his biography, I truly do think he will go back to the NFL. I could provide reasons, but I think he is gonna win another championship and then go to the NFL before he retires.

For the successes there are also Dooley's and Muschamps and it is not that I wish it to be the case, nor can I predict the future, but we're doing it again, for better or worse and this time around it was not necessary.

Hope it works out.

I think some are making some huge erroneous assumptions. We are not getting Saban and Gus. Just their coordinators. If this happens, Alabamas defense will be fine next year. So will Auburns offense. Meanwhile, we will continue to suck.

Dooley was never a coordinator, and is a terrible example. How Dooley EVER got our job is a terrible reflection on Mike Hamilton and how completely inept he was. Dooley should have never been considered.

Muschamp ended the season ranked, and his main issue is that he's not a good recruiter. If Muschamp had more talent, he can coach. He's just not gonna bring in top 10 classes. That's his downfall.
