And I also know and have heard the things about he is a jerk.

But...working with Saban for a few years hopefully has gotten that beaten out of him. Nobody is a bigger jerk than Saban.

Whether he can coach defense is important but that’s for your coordinators. Recruiting is absolutely the most important factor. Alabama usually has the #1 recruiting and they when a lot. Coincidence? I think not! It’s not about the x’s and the o’s but mostly about the jimmies and the joes...

I like him. He’s done great jobs in Bama and FSU when he was DC. Georgia seems to enjoy their HC who was Sabans DC.

My only concern is his loyalty to Bama but since Saban isn’t going to retire any time soon then that fear is probably moot at this point

My main concern is "is he better as a coordinator than a HC." Lane was a great OC and before this year he hadn't been good as a HC. Chad Morris? Great OC, mediocre HC at SMU so far.

Coordinators are just risky by nature. If we have to get a coordinator, and pull from the defensive side of the ball, then Pruitt and Venables are the best there are.

It is Saban's Defense. DC's have come and gone, risen the ranks and come and gone, and Bama still has a defense.

Gus Malzahn's offense, the OC learns it.

Ugh, we're doing it again, hoping for a different result.

My concern is that every coordinator of Saban's looks like a million bucks. Some do great things (Smart) on their own while others best accomplishment away from Bama is humping a shark..

Except Pruitt had a solid defense at Florida State and Georgia too. He's made defenses exponentially better every stop he's been at.

The Numbers Game: Measuring Jeremy Pruitt's Impact - YouTube

Numbers don't lie. Dude can coach defense. If we land him, with a solid OC and some good developers, we could be REALLY good.

I could be a believer in Pruitt.

Figures lie and liers figure.

He was able to recruit those players to Bama because the emblem on his hat and clipboard. Nick Satan is the genius behind the DBs at Alabama. Pruitt may have learned some of his tricks but is not totally responsible as this video would insinuate

And so his improvement of the Georgia and Florida State defenses, that was Saban too?

When bama got saban he had failed at Miami, Dabo was a nobody, and Jimbo was a coach in waiting (unproven)...we want a fairy tail! I have 100% faith in Coach Fulmer. I was one of the ones with a pitch fork 10 years ago but now we all know we were dumb...

He spent a season at FSU, two at UGA....the rest of his resume, before and after was in the state of Alabama. He's never been a HC, even in the HS ranks from where he came.

He won't be the DC here and the situations he's walked into in the college game do not resemble UT in the least.

For all our sakes I hope you are right and I am wrong.

This guy appears to be a full blown bammer. Hard to believe if bama offered some day that he would say no.

Here’s the ideal scenario playing out in my mind....Pruitt accepts position as DC under Gruden or Peterson this week. He decides to get a head start in his new role and Alabama prior to their playoff game. Alabama implodes and loses to Clemson. Hooters offers free Coronas and wings for life to all Volunteers. Vol fans everywhere rejoice.

I’ve heard a rumor that Saban is retiring after 2018. From a Bama fan.
