Been a good night for us, so having a bit of a nightcap and turned things over to this game about 30 minutes ago.

Washington leading 20-zip just before halftime.

I have seen 2 UCLA drives and 2 Nico overthrows

I just turned onto this game. A few things. Washington was making it look easy on offense. Not only was the receiver wide open a couple of times, the offensive lineman was looking for a UCLA defender to block but non showed up. I could hear UCLA fans cheering one at a time. Last, I didn't get a chance to see Nico play because they said he just went to the tent after the last series.

Nico is not that good. The first drive after the backup QB takes over he drives UCLA for a TD after they had been shutout for almost 3 quarters.

Maybe he got banged up but it can't help that the backup leads the team to the endzone on the first drive. Laughing at the color analyst trying to talk Nico up even after the backup showed real accuracy.

Yea he sounded pretty ridiculous with the Nico just wanted to be close to home bs.

My goodness why are they trying so hard to hype up the rose bowl while showing how nasty it is with letters about to fall off? 🤣

True, Oregon is without six or seven WR due to injury. Not sure if we'll get a couple back for next week. Plus, it is a rivalry game on the road and husky stadium is always a tough place to play. Offensive line is banged up pretty good also, so lots of young guys will need to step up. Finally, Oregon is very young I think 74% of the team is underclassmen.

The Rose Bowl is a historic venue but I’ve always wondered if sight lines are bad. It’s shaped more like a saucer rather than a bowl, so a lot of the seats are far away and at a low angle.

Did any of you catch the Oregon TD by Boetcher the Oregon LB? Second and goal and the ducks put 4 defensive players on the field snapped the ball to the LB Boetcher and he basically followed the d-linemen blocking for him on his way to the end zone. Great "senior day" call by the ducks.

So the UCLA QB is 16/26 for 69 yds when he goes out with an unspecified injury...

16 for 69? That's 4.3 ypc. Who's he throwing it to, the Center?

"Not completely sure," interim coach Tim Skipper said when asked if Iamaleava had suffered a concussion. "He was talking when we went out there, but when he came out, he went into the tent, then came into the locker room. We'll get an update as we go, but that's all I really know."

The bold part is the important part. Sounds like UCLA has a QB problem...or is it a problem QB?

I would say, problem QB, but probably not for much longer. Portal bound, but who would really want to take him on as a project.

They finish the season against USC-who is decent-next weekend

Nico will arrive at the "business decision" to sit that game out with a concussion-like he did vs Ohio State

Nico will be in the portal within minutes of it opening. I'm honestly kind of curious if there will still be any takers after the last 9 months of crap from that family.

There will be a team...maybe a G5 team or a lower-level P4 program, that will roll the dice.

But I agree with all of your points. USC decent; Nico out; Portal enrollment.

He needs to forget chasing NIL money, and work on rehabbing his image in the hope that an NFL team will take a chance on him. Otherwise, he needs to sign up for Kap's "How to Survive After You Blow an NFL Career" online seminar.

Hard to believe we were fortunate enough to "trade" him for a QB who is twice the player...and man...he will ever be at the collegiate level.

A coach would have to be VERY desperate to even consider that move. Like on the hot seat before the season starts so he is just gonna flail aimlessly to get whoever he can.

Nico does have two years of eligibility left so he may very well be following the JT Daniels route of a different team every year

Basically he's gonna have to find a situation where the presumed starter gets hurt badly in the spring (or goes nuts like Nico did at UT) to get a shot to be a starter

FSU would do it. Took DJ U. And then took Tommy Castellanos, both of whom ended up being complete busts there. Norvell will be back but his seat will be scorching hot. I could see him taking a chance on Nico.
