Just heard the same thing, even though they expected him to be the number 1 overall pick. Very interesting.

pretty stupid if he really is a top-10 pick. his surrounding cast wont get any better and they have no prayer of winning the pac-10.

Would someone please tell me what the positives are for him???? He is going to lose a boat load of money with the new CBA alone. He will be a top five pick this year so I really dont know what his reasoning is for this. He must hate money

Maybe he loves College Football. Maybe he thinks he can develop more playing next year rather than holding a clip board. Who knows, but you can get an insurance policy to hedge your risk of injury. It does't cover all the money you could lose, but it certainly can cover a nice portion of it.

pete carroll tried to do the same thing with sanchez. basically the argument is qbs who go earlier are less likely to succeed in the nfl (which the stats apparently back up). i think it's a garbage argument since i refuse to believe that a year in the nfl wouldnt' be better than a year in college, but apparently this works on some guys. locker is very raw. much more so than sanchez, but he'd be stupid to not take the money and run.

With the looming possibility of a rookie salary cap in 2011, this makes absolutely no sense to me. Somebody needs to give him Sam Bradford's cell phone number.

"for the love of the game" idealism and hopes of winning the Pac-10 are probably at play here.

They are definitely not Ty Willingham's Huskies, but as droski said, they are a far cry from the Rose Bowl, or even the Holiday Bowl.

At the least, Locker would probably have been expected to start for whoever picks him and would have ended up failing, so maybe if his draft stock falls, he ends up going to a team with a QB on their way out after a year or so. Locker improves from the sideline and becomes a factor 3-4 years into his career.

Sure, you can get insurance, but that's a boat load of money to leave on the table.

Sorry but didn't see a thread on this and I refuse to look at every page for it.Seeing how Locker is a projected top 5 pick or first QB taken, will he go ahead and enter the draft or stick by his guns and come back?

Locker will be wearing purple and gold next season.

Next time, make it easier on all of us. You don't have to look through each thread. Just use the search button. There's already a thread on this.
