Maybe the fifth-coolest thing about this classic American experiment is the language people have wound up using. At one point, Adam Rust of the Bristol Motor Speedway stood at football field-level and said, “Come game time, this infield will be full, with seating, premium areas on pit road.”

Next, he said, “The bands will be down on pit road.”

Later, Jerry Caldwell, vice president of the speedway, said, “Virginia Tech’s [band] will be in Turn 1, and Tennessee’s will be in Turn 3.”

In this visionary landscape, they will play college football on Saturday night at a racetrack — its grandstand expected to swell with 150,000 people, the most ever to attend an American football game — and they’re talking marching bands on pit road.

They’re gonna play a college football game at a racetrack, and it’s amazing

This is the time to change our image back to a contender for the SEC laurels. If we lose tonight, this will be a 7-5 year and Butch will feel the heat , fairly or not.
