Don't use logic. Baby Boomers still think we are the best at everything because they inherited the best economy in world history this side of the Silk Road being a thing. They can't comprehend we are in the mess we are not because of Millenials, or even Gen X people, but themselves and their horrible economic policies and voting patterns. They're running scared because technology has already passed most of them by and their notions of "morality" and "family values" (aka racism, xenophobia, and anything anti gay or non christian) no longer exist in a world trying to move ahead from terrible events in human history and making people as equal as we can in how they are treated and what their basic human rights are.
You have the freedom to type that paragraph without fear of being hanged or beaten. Not everybody in the world can say that. Go be liberal in China and see what that gets you.

This is eerily similar in feel for me of the Kelly Washington situation. PF allowed him to walk his own way and it cost PF respect and the locker room. I've always been convinced that it was the start of his downfall. Let's be honest....even when Washington left, the damage remained. Almost as if one bad apple spoiled the entire barrel. Wonder if we will look back on Hurd as the start of Jones downfall? You lose respect and discipline and it's rare one ever gets it back.

If things I've heard are true, this may be far from over. There is some serious internal damage control to be done by the end of the season. If things aren't fixed, Hurd may just be the pinhole leak in the dam that begins to gush. Yesterday's abortion of a press conference seems indicative of distress in the program,to me.

Should be an entertaining off-season here in VN for sure.

Or maybe he is upset at losing a talented player who is making a poor decision? But I am sure you are "hearing" a lot of things.

The Washington COMpost is about as reliable as your wife's hairdresser's cousin's brother-in-law.

rube. My bet is that you've never read the Washington Post. If you had, you wouldn't make such a stupid statement. We have a society of high information people and low information people, and low information people tend not to do much serious reading and thus make comments, and have opinions, like yours.

In my mind, Butch is gone after this season regardless of what happens. He has a lameduck AD and administration. There is no sane reason that Butch continues to roll with Dobbs as he has reached his peak and is horrible. I feel like if Butch was going to be around next year, he would get his QB's, that will be competing next spring, reps right now. Dobbs has no NFL potential. Makes me wonder why he would stick with a qb that has no NFL ambitions after his first half vs SC.

Butch is not guaranteed to have an AD that he likes and one that likes him back. We finally have crawled out of a hole financially and boosters are NOT wanting another Dooley situation to tailspin our program. I just find it weird that Butch would be so stubborn to think that since our preseason goals are no longer possible, he wouldn't want to get players ready for next year, especially Dormady.

Nope. That seldom ends well around here. I'm not making any predictions, just troubled by some things I've heard for a couple of weeks second hand.

It seems things are not good internally. Hopefully it gets cleaned up and this ends with Hurd.

Come on, man. That's weak. WaPo does some reliable work but some crappy work as well. (And I don't mean the editorial page carrying water for the "progressive" elites, though that happens too.) But the bottom line is, you know as well as I do that you don't give much, if any, credence to WaPo's reporting or editorializing on the Tennessee football program, which is what we are talking about here anyway.

The article said that Hurd was upset at how he was being used in the scheme. It is regrettable that he feels he needs to leave the team, but I am not happy with how he has been used either. How many times do they have to run him up the middle (on a hand off that takes a half an hour to develop) on first down only to see him get clobbered at the LOS? I hate the offense this team runs.

Hating the offense has nothing to do with this bs story. I don't like Deboring but that is beside the damn point.

If you all don't see that something is off with this team and has been since game 1, I don't know what to say. I've been screaming it all season. And I don't think it is just Hurd. Boro is just saying what many of us are thinking but have been hoping it's not true. Hell, even Rick Neuheisel said weeks ago on Sirius that Butch was dealing with things a head coach should never deal with. That raised my eyebrows for sure. Something is clearly wrong.

True, but P Williams left and apparently Kongbo has just recently been talked back from the ledge. He might still leave. Wonder how he would be doing if he had gone to Bama?

I do not believe Kongbo was leaving. He posted the shoes in reference to JH. Kongbo just helped his leaving
