Was Tim Tebow almost aborted?

I heard this as a rumor and decided to google it. Every source on google was either a forum post or a blog talking about it, all quoting the same source, a newspaper article that featured an interview with Tebow's mother, who claimed that doctors recommended that he be aborted due to her health.

Frankly, I'm skeptical. People's memories get fuzzy over 20 years, and quotes from Tebow and his mother make it seem like the doctors were trying to force them to abort, even though according to the mother there was no actual risk to her health, only the risk that Tim would be stillborn. It seems like the more realistic scenario is that the doctors mentioned the possibility of an abortion, and over time Tebow's mother subconsciously altered the story. It's not surprising considering they're big activists against this sort of thing.

Tebow doing this. Standing up for what you believe is much stronger than one sitting there not expressing at all. I could voice my opinion all day long but it won't get far being my celebrity status. Tebow, on the other hand is well known.....His point will be heard. Its funny that its bothers people about one standing up for abortion but they think they have all the right to stand up for free choice. I'll leave the conversation here because we definately don't want to go into an exhausting debate on this one.

not trying to jump into an abortion debate but to answer the op's question i remember seeing it at the awards show where berry was first robbed of the thorpe. the clip that they showed about tebag roaming around with rusty scissors when he won his disney spirit award. if you can find that clip you might find your answer. if i remember correctly his mom was talking about it in the video they showed.
