Was the bama game the low point in our rebuilding?

not sure how anyone can know that until the future plays out?? if we lose to Vandy, that will be lower than any other loss this season so we have to let future play out to see if we are on the up swing.

Yes, it has to play out. No one knew in 2001 that the LSU loss was a turn down. We'll all have to wait and see but damn I hope we're making the turn up.

I'm not gonna predict we lose to Vandy but (it pains me to say this) we very well could lose to them.
I never dreamed the day would come that we would have to be concerned about Vandy and most of the fans wouldn't be bothered by it. Instead of being upset and demanding better as a fan base they make excuses and attack anyone who expects UT to be better.

Most fans know we aren't going to lose to Vandy. So you piss and moan when people attack you for saying Dooley can't get it done, but it's ok for you to attack people who disagree with you. Nice logic. Goob.

these threads make me laugh more and more as the weeks progress. Rock bottom...i dont believe we hit rock bottom until we do not win a single game all year. How can we judge if we are "rock bottom" with a coach who in his first year went to a bowl game. Who had components in place on offense to compete with any team in the SEC. We had unfortunate injuries on offense and basically this year is a wash. we will still make a bowl game and with a win Saturday could actually improve over last year. 6-6 in 2010 regular season and possible 7-5 in 2011....i dont see rock bottom. Hell we could "shock the world" and beat Ark and go 8-4. I dont see rock bottom. I live in Memphis and their program is at rock bottom. When you lose to Ark St and your only win of the year before last week was Austin Peay...thats rock bottom. Lets actually give our team a FULL season with healthy players recruited by this coaching staff and see how it works out. Rock bottom is a long ways away.

Im telling you Vanderbilt is lurking.Georgia got the punt blocked at the end of the game, and if the Vandy player that recovered it had stayed on his feet we'd be talking about Richt's possible replacements. We lose to Vandy or drop the streak to Kentucky that might be the low point...we just dont know the bottom.Kinda of like catching a falling knife; believe me it can get worse.

The low point would be getting beat by KY, they're pitiful. Vandy has a legit shot at winning. The good news is most of the teams returns next year, the bad news is most of the team returns next year, experience doesn't make up for a lack of talent. Someone mentioned in another thread that he/she expected a top 10 recruiting class and that would help. In some cases it would, if it happens, but not against the schools that will bring in a top 5 class like Fla, Bama and LSU probably will and have for the last 4-5 years. It's going to take several top classes to catch up. I know it's tough but it is what it is.

We have already suffered our low point. Fortunately, kiffin is gone. Everything that Coach Dooley has done in his short time as head coach has put us on the rebuilding path. It takes time my friends. Coach Dooley and company are doing a great job at recruiting. Not saying we wont have bumps in the process, but things are smoothing out. To beat SC this weekend would be great for the team. To put things in perspective - Bleacher report puts UT at #70 out of 120 teams. SC is ranked at #14 by the BCS standings. To beat SC will be a feat, but not out of the question. The way our defense has stepped up, the only option SC has is to throw the ball. The changes that Dooley and Wilcox implemented this week should negate SC's passing game (should being the operative). The other key to a big win - is our offense containing Ingram. oops,,,my bad,,,went on a rant. Bottom line - kiffin was our low point. Nothing but Orange sky's and rainbows from here on out.:)

Comparing our team to the woes of Tiger High officially means we are "rock bottom".

Was Alabama the low point in our rebuilding? Is this the week where we start to go back up? Is this when we climb out of hell, and gain momentum for 2012 ?how big would it be to win out? I for one believe that Worley will be a great QB for us and lead the team to a victory Saturday. I would say this is the low point when South Carolina doesn't respect you, We all need to pull together and get behind this team and our coach and have neyland rocking Saturday night, it's time to climb out if hell.

I don't know anyone in South Carolina who dosen't respect Tennessee and I know that the team has respect for them.We know it is going to be a tough game. Both these teams have lost a lot of key players this year to injuries.I really think that Tennessee is headed back up.They have just had a rough time with the injuries. Here's hoping for a great game between two good teams and hopefully no more injuries to either team.

Is there any reasonable hope that Worley gets it done and we upset S. Carolina? There is glimpses of strength in the defense with Maggitt and AJ Johnson. I have long thought that Brewer was a liability at safety, always taking bad angles and not making many plays back there and I think Randolph will be a better safety. Just want the VOLS to win. Losing sucks. Who knows if this is the low point?

Yup. Lot of reasonable hope we beat SC. AS of today, SC is a 6.5 point favorite. That's pretty close odds by the Vegas bookies. As expected, they think the game will be within a TD.

No not really, i was just showing a comparison. If winning 6 games and going to a bowl game is rock bottom i would hate to see us win three. people might jump off bridges.
