I just watched the game that doomed Coach Justin Fuentes at Virginia Tech! — Was that “OUR” Hendon Hooker - That lost to the Liberty Flames (2020)?????!!!!!!!!!! (Btw: Hugh Freez- Liberty Coach - Beat ‘em)…..

You can NOT tell me that the COACH doesn’t make the difference!!!!!!!!

From Justin Fuentes - losing to LIBERTY — to Josh Heupel beating ALABAMA!
- Totally transformed a Quarterback (Hendon Hooker) in a year & a half!!!!!!!!
(Without injury- He should have won the Heisman!!!!!!)

I’m ALL IN!!!!!!!!!!!

BELIEVE THE HEUP!!!!!!! 👍

I'm not convinced that the loss had anything to do with how Hendon Hooker played. He was 20 of 27 for 217 yards and 3Tds and another Td running with over 100 yards running. Liberty, all though the schedule was trash, won all their games except one that they lost by 1 point. It was also in the middle of Covid, and Coach HF is not a bad coach. Maybe a bad person, but I'm not judging. Just saying this is not the game to make your comparison of QB coaching with, imho.

I know it's a QB comparison on this thread but I still can not help but wonder just what Alvin Kamara would have done in this system???? Sorry for drifting off the subject.
With or without Hurd and my guy John Kelly
with its prob the same as right now with Jabari and wright
Without good god man

Coach means everything. The world we see this coming year with Joe Milton. Stay tuned.

This year the Milk man starts delivering! I am equally confident however, that had HM been somewhere else, he would have continued to sour though.

Coaching makes a HUGE difference. Just look at it. Hooker under Pruitt was decent. Under Heupel he turns into one of the best QBs our program has ever had. It’s why some of us have said things like I wonder what Dobbs or JG would have been like in Heupels offense. This is the first time we have had competent QB coaching since Kiffin.

If Pruitt had managed to limp into a fourth year, Hooker would have been our best option, but that staff was not going to enable him to shine. The scheme was too limited and average, and Pruitt's management skills were terrible.
Who was happy? Fans? Players? Hooker would have been unhappy too.
Not with Knoxville, but with the bridle, bit, and blinders Pruitt would have forced on his play.

For that matter, imagine what could have been if Heupel had had Bray with Hunter and Patterson at receiver?

So sick to imagine them playing in this offense.
and maybe even Da'Rick Rogers too.

Now that weed is no longer going to end collegiate careers, he might have been around.
On the flip side, with the portal, he might have transferred.
