I had never felt so much pride as a vol fan as I did on Sunday. With as much division within our fan base that I’ve seen over the past couple of years, I was so proud that on Sunday that the entire fan base united to stand for something. It was that unity that helped us accomplish something historical that I don’t think any other fanbase could have pulled off.

With that said, we now have to recognize that the rest of college football is against us. We’ve have all seen the backlash from the national media on our protest, and whether it’s fair or not, we have now been painted as the villains.

Now more than ever, we have to stand together. The rest of the world will continue to attack us and if we don’t fight for each other and for our program, no one will. We see how powerful we can be when we stand together. It’s now us against the world.

But with that said we cannot lose ourselves in this fight; we’re still a community full of good people. This means we can’t let our opponents win by attacking each other, and I’ll even admit that I’ve also been guilty of this. I’m not saying that we all have to think the same way or agree with each other’s opinions. All I’m saying is to remember that we all (including our VFLs and players) want Tennessee Athletics to succeed.

We also need to continue to treat our opponents with respect. When opponents come into town, we need to continue to show them that southern hospitality that has made fans from Oregon and UCLA think highly of us. Show the world that despite their opposition to us, that we’re a community who treats others with respect and that just because opponents can try to be disrespectful that we’re better than that. Defend our program to the death to those who attack us, but defend it with respect and honor.

I’ll end on a personal note and you don't have to read this if this has gotten too long. Growing up in Texas, I always felt like an outsider for reasons I won’t discuss and that made me kind of a loner, until I attended the University of Tennessee. Even before I moved, others would tell me that southerners were “backwards people” who wouldn’t accept me because I was asian. But from the moment I stepped in the state to the moment I was forced to move(because of my job), every single person I met treated me with respect and brought me into their families without hesitation because we all bled orange. I guess I’m just trying to say that I love this community and our athletics department, and there’s no one else I’d rather go to war with against the rest of college football than y’all.

Sorry for making this long getting sappy on ya. Go Vols

Sunday was just a charade

Not completely. While the fan base did indeed lose its damn mind and rightfully so the hire stop came from within TN power brokers. When Joe is getting phone calls from tens of legislators asking “wtf are you doing?!” make no mistake he feels the heat as a politician himself. Then when money within UT calls Bev and asks the same “wtf are you doing?’” the wheels came to a screeching halt thank God.

The charade is sports media giving the fan base all this crap. Either they are stupider than I thought they were or they’re just attacking an easy target they know they can beat up.

Still I am proud of Vol Nation for raising our collective voice. But I have no illusion of its impact on the outcome.

Right now we are the whipping boy because a sucky ESPN just like a sucky CNN & PMSnbc need something negative to revive their putrid ratings.

In a few weeks, it will be Ole Miss turn to be the punching bag as NCAA Sanctions come raining down.

This what happens when you buck the system. There are media outlets and athletic departments all over the country that are crapping their pants because a fanbase discovered it has a say in how things are done. They have the power but we spend our money on the product and guess what? Consumer power was exerted and it's scares the he'll out of them.

MSNBC is having record ratings with Rachel Maddow having the top rated news cable show for the 3rd quarter for the first time ever. Yes, over Tucker and InSannity. Source: Forbes. Who cares about FACTS though, right?

I'm not going to quibble because in my mind those that follow the 24hr "news" channels are kind of sad.

However, when you say record ratings, do you mean record ratings for an MSNBC show or for a "news" show regardless of the channel. I honestly don't know but would be surprised if her ratings were all that high.

I find it funny how the media, especially local talking heads, totally ignore the real problems, Haslam and the admin.. Everybody knows it but other than the fans, no one talks about it. They are such cowards. Scared of losing whatever access lord hasbin grants them. They would rather blame the fans than tell the truth and possibly help.. ****'m all....

Sports talk radio show here in Charlotte has talked about Tennessee the past two mornings on my drive to work. We have ruined GS chance of ever being a head coach anywhere else but let's not mention he sucks as a head coach. I turned the station and started listening to Christmas music......LOL

We ruind Shiano's chances?
We??

It is so improbable that any coach at Penn St. in those years had not smelled even a little of the stench of the rotten fire floating in the air of the locker room as to make claims of not knowing not very credible, even under oath. However, the slight possibility does exist.

Even so, GOING FORWARD, young coach with aspirations of higher things will find it much more difficult to hold his tounge if he suspects there is something should let his administration know about.
