Was Jackson's hit clean?

Did Janzen Jackson show all out effort to help win or did he make a "thuggish" play?

That was a clean hit. He clearly, and clearly being an understatement, led with his shoulder pads.

Clean hit. His shoulder made contact with the UNC player. He did not bury his head into the UNC player, nor did he make contact with the UNC player's head.

The missed extra point sank us. Janzen was the last defender, and tried to end the play. While I too was greatly frustrated with the yards and time added on after the play, it was the miss that created the end game scenario.
Excellent thoughts. You are exactly right.

it wasn't a spear, he hit him with the shoulder pad. it looked like a tough hit because jackson is so good about setting up a hit.

There are a bunch of morons dissing Janzen Jackson on the official thread forum, blaming him for the loss. I personally think he made a good clean play and is our best defensive player.

You are darn right is was clean. I tired of those who need tampons once a month bringing this sport to the level of badminton. He led with his shoulder. I guess the big ten refs aren't used to seeing men play football

That was a BS call! When did it become illegal to hit somebody hard in football? He did not leave with his head for crying out loud.

I didn't notice his head leaving his body, but he did LEAD with his helment.

GAVOLBOY, why don't you just use the N word like you mean. A thug? because he hit hard? GFU

Your response Sir or Madame is out of line. I know it's beneath someone like you to ever think you're wrong or to apologize, but you owe this entire Nation an apology.

And when did a team ever get points on the board for hitting a guy hard. I think you're looking at the wrong sport. Try boxing...

Thought it was leading with helmet at first. Then saw replay and quickly realized that it was a clean hit . . . . back of the shoulders. B.S. call!!!!! LSU AND UNC. It happened. Can't believe it.

He is without a doubt the only football player we have on defense.

Question: Was Jackson's hit clean?

Answer: yes...in football.

Alternate answer: No...in the new pu$$ification of football.

Not a negavol, it was a cheap shot. He launched from his feet. He didn't run through the tackle. In the old days, we all would have said, "nice hit." I miss the old days.

that was a vicious hit, and that's why I love watching him play. he didn't have his best game, but i don't blame JJ.

The fact is this would have been a legal hit in years past. Not this year though. Anytime a defensive player leaves his feet leaping head first into the player it is a penalty this year. Same thing happened with Eric Gordon in the Oregon game. He practically did a swan dive on a player and was flagged. The point is whether we like it or not it's a penalty this year and the players need to be aware enough to realize it.

On another note I don't know that I have ever seen a player make such spectacular plays and then look like such a fool on routine plays as Janzen.

awful call! Clean hit by janzen. Hard hit...but clean hit. Shoulder pads drilled into the guys back. What is he suppose to do? That was a hard....but clean hit. Garbage call!

should we agree that JJ will be the official scapegoat for this one...I thought for sure we would award it to Bray and the interceptions or the defense as a whole...I mean that was UNC...

It was a GREAT defensive play & a clean hit, he lead with his shoulder pad right into the defenders back. 10 years ago no flag is thrown, in the new wussy football it's a flag.
