Was Derek Dooley NOT invited?

Unless he wants to simply move...his wife could open up a practice here in Knoxville....and he could become a Mr. Mom type dad....he might be allowed to coach pee-wee football but I am not sure it would be allowed. The mental anguish and scarring of never winning may cause them grow up with a loser's state of mind and the PTA would never allow that

He could coach at Halls High School and the fans would be elated with his record.:)

I keep asking myself why he didn't have surgery before the season so that he would have healed and this would be a non-topic now. He is looking for the sympathy vote, he'll never get it from me. More for the player's and fans. Did you see the interview with Sunseri, thought he was going to cry talked about his son which is great but never said a word about the game. Loser!

I see your using your summers eve bottle for butt chugging now. any man would get emotional about going up against his own family. you know he didnt know it was broken before the season.

I think this got thrashed through on another thread. There's a risk of NCAA violations if there's a perception of coaching going on, including by former players. (It would be have to be done off campus, off UT's nickel, no encouragement by UT personnel to do this, etc etc.)

Dumb rule IMO, and maybe over-cautious on the part of current admin and staff, but apparently that's at least part of it.

--and no, I don't think that a pep talk by a former player should count as "coaching", but I don't even begin to pretend to understand NCAA rules. It was hair-raising enough having a kid recruited back in the day.

If you ask Peyton about Dooley and the vols situation the last few years, a lot of haters wouldn't like to hear his opinion.

Ask Eric Berry his opinion of Dooley and the Vols situation the last few years, and if it's going to affect where his brothers go. None of us are going to like that answer...
