I already posted this in another topic, but here it is again....

Let me just say that I was at the game tonight and I love CBP.... he was sooooo nice. I got a picture with him before the game and then after the game I of course talked Kesling out of a media guide and coach autographed it. He asked me my name, personalized the autograph, even put in the auto. "thanks for being there for us", he also assured me that he was going no where...I hope he means it. He just goes the extra mile and out of his way to be nice. There were maybe 75-100 UT fans left after the game (most of them rode a bus down from K'ville I am assuming) and coach came out and addressed the remaining fans...thanking them for showing up and saying basically our defense stunk the place up. He is just so nice it is almost scary. Bonus of the night all the Lady Vols were at the game and we got to watch them practice after the game. Other than the loss..a pretty good night. Sorry for the length, but thought some would find this interesting.

Bradshaw did have a wrist brace on after the game...cool it LIO

Bradshaw has been wearing a wrist brace around campus every day since the Florida game in Knoxville. That is nothing new. He is a tough guy, I'm sure he will be alright...

I hope that is just a sprain. He has a month until March 16 to get to a 100% thats when UT needs him.

we drove down there. I have a new respect for Alabama fans they didnt rub it in our face, I was really mad at the half and in the bathroom two different people stopped and complimented our team. We had some follow but not near what it was at Georgia.

There is nothing like a report from a fan at the actual game. Thanks for sharing. :biggrin2:

I went to the game as well. By and large, ladyvolinbama hit the nail on the head. But, when the crowd started the "over-rated" chant and the "Vols we just beat the hell out of you" chant, my agreement with LVIB's comments went down the drain. One old fart in front of me just turned and grinned at my group when the over-rated chant started. I looked him in the eyes and said, I agree, we must be over-rated if your team beat us. I'll never learn.

Dammit, I hate losing to bammer, especially having to live with these guys. BTW, bammers don't get basketball.

On a serious note, we couldn't buy a basket and the foul calls were the stuff homer legends are built from. Bradshaw, CLo and Patterson were held, elbowed, shoved and body blocked the entire game without a call. OTOH we couldn't think about a handcheck without a whistle. Bama couldn't miss a shot (of course it seems that only we can miss a slam dunk). Our boys looked tired as early as pre-game warm ups and dragged themselves to the locker room when the game was over.

We have a very tough 4 games ahead of us.

That's one piece of fan idiocy that I've never understood . . . If your team has just played great and beaten a highly rated team, why in the heck would you start shouting "Overrated" at the top of your lungs and in effect minimize what your team just accomplished?

I'm glad you folks were treated relatively well at the game.

Watching it on TV, every time the JP crew panned to the crowd, their fans looked something like this:

Even more so when they showed the student section!

let me assure you when I said overall a good night it was in no way directed at the Bama hospitality....my good night was a photo and autograph from CBP, a free media guide, and the bonus of a Lady Vols practice....we had some goon behind us that when J. Smith was missing free throws he was screaming "come on Mr. 3 point man you can't make a free throw?" thinking it was Lofton...it amazes me how people who have no clue seem to want to yell the loudest. I promised myself no more trips to Tuscaloosa for me. It just stinks b/c I have a hard time getting to K'ville 7 hours away. BTW the rammer jammer is always a "class act" something the Bammers supposedly pride themselves on.

That is all i saw.

No doubt, Bama's b-ball team played their best game of the season yesterday...

My comment was directed solely at the assembled fan base, or should I say, the "mulletocracy." :biggrin2:

You summed up what my opinion has always been.

I must agree with this about Rammer Jammer. I enjoy this during football season, but hate it at basketball games. You're just too close to the fans, and the cheerleaders are right in front of the other team's bench, and frankly its just "tacky".

Agreed . . . Every school has their traditions and chants, but for my money, yelling "We just beat the hell out of you!" at the top of your lungs with opposing fans and their kids sitting 3 seats over from you is a little bit weak.

It's unbelievable how many guys from about 16 - 24 have the "Croyle" around here. I had some friends down from Illinois and they noticed it right away - kind of a "what's the deal with all the guys having the same goofy haircut around here"
