Any PC gamers out there with a table top addiction like me? For those not familiar with the lore of either series this will be a fantasy turn based strategy game.

Really interested just to see if anyone else is getting this. My friend and I already pre-ordered.

My avi has some resemblance to a certain tabletop game made by a certain greedy company based in the UK

The whole Day One Chaos race pack DLC bullshyte is ridiculous and the practice needs to stop. It looks like it could be a good rts, but I'll stick with the Medieval 2 mod for now.

So I have to wait another 4-6 years for the successor to Medieval 2? Attilla is ok but I prefer the Middle Ages, partly because I'm far more familiar with it's history. This doesn't appeal to me at all.

I would hold off on pre-orders and such. Ever since Empire, Total War games have needed at least 1 major patch before they are playable without huge issues.

It may take another six years for Medieval 3, but it won't be because of this. They have two teams working, one for fantasy and another for historical.

There is a good mod for Rome that is a multiplayer conversion with medieval units. Beautiful models and unit cards.

Yeah I had made note of your avi in passing. Looks like you favor the 40k route.

Not a fan of them splitting the game into thirds, seems too chopped up imo. I could see 2 but not three. And I was never sold on their race selection and it seems with the chaos dlc they are acknowledging that they messed up and don't want to leave a key race out.

I think the reason they have sat on Medieval 3 for so long is because 2 came out pretty soon after 1. at least compared to the other repeats. I would like to see Empire 2, and I don't mean Napoleon.

I am a sucker for both games, Warhammer and Total War so I was going to get it anyway so the preorder doesn't bother me.

Funnily enough I actually started out tabletop gaming with GDubbs LotR SBG. I was only about 12 at the time, so I had absolutely no clue no one played it.

When I finally found a store in Murfreesboro, I started getting into 40k as only about 10% of the community played Fantasy.

Of course after throwing all my dosh into a terribly-painted SM force, I realized 40k is bad, and Fantasy was the way to go

And now that I've been wanting to get started back into tabletop gaming, GDubbs killed Fantasy.

my friend and I are both big into fantasy and refuse to play the new crap. we are keeping the old rule books and just playing that. He has a large number of 40k armies, I am beginning to slowly branch into that as I have completed a couple armies that most interest me.
