Russian Onslaught Kills 16 Ukrainians, Injures 94 in Drone, Missile Attacks despite Easter ceasefire pleas

Russia escalated its attacks on Ukrainian civilians overnight — killing at least 16 people and injuring 94 more with drones and missiles, despite pleas from Kyiv for an Easter ceasefire.

In one of the most brutal blitzes of the overnight campaign, a Russian drone struck a market in the city of Nikopol in the Dnipro region Saturday morning, killing at least five people and injuring 27 others.

A 14-year-old girl was among those critically wounded, while victims were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds, mine-explosive injuries and burns, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast governor.

At least five people were killed and 27 others injured in the Nikopol market attack.

Criminal proceedings for war crimes were initiated for the attack, Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General said. Since Russian strongman Vladimir Putin launched his full-scale invasion more than four years ago, the office has documented more than 210,000 such cases.

Images of the wreckage show market stalls ripped to pieces and the roof collapsed, as fires tore through the shops, with meat and other produce spread on the floor among the charred structure.

In separate attacks in the Dnipro region, a five-month-old baby was among three people injured as flames from drones and aerial bomb strikes ripped through residential neighborhoods.

In Russia, two key Baltic oil export hubs were damaged after a series of Ukrainian drone attacks, forcing refineries to find ‌more expensive rail transport routes to other export terminals.

Fires also broke out after drone attacks in the Dnipro region, injuring three people including a 5-month-old baby.

A Ukrainian drone and missile attack on southern Russia also killed at least one ‌person and injured four others.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced greater security co-operation with Turkey after meeting with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul Saturday, — as Kyiv seeks ‌to leverage its wartime defense capabilities against Iranian drones.

Cat And Dog 'are flown to safety by Ukrainian drone to Save Them From Advancing Russian Troops'

A cat and dog were flown to safety by a Ukrainian drone to escape advancing Russian troops on the frontline, according to reports.

Astonishing footage purportedly shows the pair being pulled from bags after the daring flight.

Ukrainian fighters are said to have sent the animals on a mercy mission of nearly eight miles.

Supplies had been delivered to troops from the 14th Separate Mechanised Brigade holding the line near Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region.

On the return flight, the drone was used to evacuate the two animals from a position threatened by Vladimir Putin’s invading forces.

Could also go in the Iran thread since Trump is so dementia-addled that he can't keep Iran and Ukraine straight any longer.

this thread sure seems neglected by the Ukraniacs.

it actually looks like Russia is knee deep and not sure he can survive this. For his own sake, he should of taken the peace ramp last year.

I will admit I was wrong, I didnt think Ukraine could hold out, but very commendable.

The Ukraininerds have done moved on. They were only supporting Ukraine because of Biden, those people don’t have an ounce of conviction other than to their party.

MOSCOW - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 9 that he thought the Ukraine war was coming to an end, remarks that came just hours after he had vowed victory in Ukraine at Moscow's most scaled-back Victory Day parade in years.

"I think that the matter is coming to an end," Putin told reporters of the Russia-Ukraine war, Europe's deadliest conflict since World War II. Putin also said he would be willing to negotiate new security arrangements for Europe, and that his preferred negotiating partner would be Germany's former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.

Wow. Is it finally going to end?
