War in Ukraine

Like I said, everything he says is a smoke screen and bogus. Key is trying to figure out what Trump is really after with this tweet.
I think he is telling the EU and Zelensky to put up or shut up now. He knows that they won't do it so when the inevitable happens he can point the finger probably saying you can't fund the enemy by purchasing their energy during these years of fighting the war.

His criteria is, can I get accolades by doing something about this, can I get some free gifts out of it, and which side is more willing to publicly kiss my fleshy white butt?

None of this nutty stuff works, just like when you came out on the forum and claimed you don't vote. It actually all has the opposite intended impact. I guess you can recycle the Pee parties and Russia Gate stuff. 🤷‍♂️

Don't worry according to this thread Europe got this.

Trump is the most uninformed president in the history of this country.

I'm honestly curious as to what format they were finally able to present the information in a way that the he would willingly consume, and what was offered to him that he finally saw some semblance of personal gain, to the point that he'd publicly make that statement.
Good question.

I'd lean towards the theory that Putin's refusal to back down has publicly humiliated Donald "I can fix it on Day 1" Trump. This Jimmy Kimmel thing has only reinforced the reality of really how amazingly thin-skinned our President is and how scared he is of criticism and being made to look weak.

Moreover, he's a textbook case of form over substance, so facts concerning this war are actually irrelevant.

Ultimately, Donald is here for Donald. And right now Putin is making Donald look like the impotent sucker that he is before the entire world.

Hey, you are talking about the guy that we all thought was a joke Candidate in 2015 who has now won two Presidential Elections and might be the greatest force for political change (whether good or bad) in the modern era. Don't underestimate him.
Not underestimating him at all. The fact that Harris was such a bad candidate and everyone was sick of Hillary was perfect timing for him

Possibly but he beat all the Republicans as well such as Mike Huckabee, Marco Rubio, and Jeb Bush. He created the entire MAGA movement which is now, arguably, the biggest movement in the USA and has even gone global.

After last year, I am done considering him a joke. I constantly see these "Trump is am idiot" due to x-ray tweet threads only to make others look foolish down the road. The guy clearly uses tweeter to post crap he doesn't mean and is clearly extreme. Basically his tweets are smoke screens and always have been.

They think their programming and insane behavior actually works. NPC

Yeah those rambling posts are clearly planned and thought through before hitting send

Honestly I think that’s more of an indictment on the trash level of POTUS candidates getting put forth now in the general election cycle and the absolute idiot level of the voting electorate.

True, but you are pointing out a major flaw in Democracy (and might be accurate with it).
Gotta take the bad with the good. We impose minimal restrictions on voting rights which I think is how it should be. Basically citizenship, age, and residency determines each voter’s specific ballot.

Originally voting was limited on purpose, tailored more to the upper crust of society using land ownership, gender, and race. I think we’re better off now. I just wish the electorate made “more informed” choices 🤷‍♂️

So you are saying Democracy doesn't work anymore... hmmm...

The problem isn't with "democracy" the problem is with the institutionalized two-party system; Washington warned us of this.

If we were honest as a nation, we'd have 6-8 nationally relevant political parties, and if we coupled that with ranked-choice voting, we'd have a much more accurate representation of the populace, and a government that would be forced to work with one another to govern.

And repealed the 17th amendment we’d be headed in the right direction. Although ranked choice couldn’t be mandated for presidential elections

I think we're getting closer to the end of the war now. Very close.

Ukraine's relentless attacks on Russian oil refineries are sheer genius. While this war has always been David v. Goliath, in this case, Russia's huge size actually works against it. It simple is incapable of defending all of its refineries from UKR drones. And when these drones hit their distillation towers, repairs to bring them back online take 3-4 weeks up to months long.

Gas and oil are the lifeblood of Russia. Ukraine is methodically bleeding Putin out. If they can continue to ramp up drone production / imports to where they can hit one or two refineries every day (Russia only has 38 major refineries), Putin is going to be forced to the negotiation table.

Or... just like USSR... Russia simply implodes.

Given all their nukes, I don't think we actually want that to happen.

Actually not a bad post. I actually don't even like the idea of parties, I like candidates only.

Big issue was Federal Government was not intended t9 be so powerful and local government was what was supposed to matter. The reasoning is that you can actually meet and interact with your local politicians.
